what do you need modded that would require gummowned?
as an fyi…i have two sticks from the NE at my house right now that I have to re-mod because of the work he did. in total…i have repaired/remodded about 15 sticks that he did at various tournaments.
remember that there are a few of us here that have the knowledge to do anything with a joystick and we take pride in our work.
Ok this is officially… Wait cleaning up the jizz… THE golden age for fighters. Now its more like pick a fighter lol. Everything else will take a backseat to kofxiii DOA5 and VF5 fs. Im goin innn
Well im saving up for equipment. Looking into pioneer cdj 1000s and a djm400 or 800 to start w/. But I also want to produce as well. I would like to trainspot or come out and learn. Hell im even getting that dvd at howtodjfast so I can learn QUICK. I guess my question is where do u dj, how frequent & can I juss chill in the background and learn some shit. Also im extremely serious about this/goin to school to learn how to produce edm. Also do you use a laptop or just decks or vynl whats your setup?
i use a midi controller and my macbook when i play at clubs. i have taken a break from playing out though due to health issues.
production is a whole different animal. most producers are using either Logic with vst plugins (massive is the main plugin), Reason, or Fruity Loops. all of those programs can be found online with a little searching. i prefer to use reason when producing since I have used it for almost 10 years now and I know a lot of producers personally who make quality tunes with the program.
being a dj is fun and has its rewards, but it takes severe dedication if you ever want to make it out of your bedroom. they are a dime a dozen and you have to be the best of the best of the best in your area if you ever plan on impressing a promoter. it sucks, but that is the way of life.
i have no problems breaking down music theory and mixing for you though. I don’t need equipment to teach that.
it is def better to get something like that. if you realize you just aren’t into dj’ing…you wont hate yourself for spending tons of money for nothing.
a macbook is a must imo if you want to dj. it’s not just the internal soundcard, but the way a macbook handles processing. for example, i had a brand new i5 dell laptop with 8gb of ram and when running Traktor (for mixing mp3s) I would hit 100% cpu usage. With my 2007 macbook pro and 2gb of ram, i would hit 10% cpu usage doing the exact same thing. this ensures that the audio doesn’t clip and that the program won’t lag or crash.
You just saved me $1400 in decks & a mixer :). So I will try a midi w/ macbook get a pair of pioneer headphones and active monitor speakers. Am I missing anything? Serato scratch??
Edit: thats a nice controller. Im gonna have to get the cheap stuff for now.
scratch isn’t needed unless you are using cdjs or turntables.
a lot of midi controllers come with software, so I would buy one that has it included. i prefer to use traktor software over anything else due to the large amount of options within it.
take a look at this site:
you will find tons of reviews on equipment, lots of this vs that articles and great info on midi controllers in general.
You can copy the following into the OP, please and thank you. You definately post up some good ranbat points with your skills

DOA5!! lol thats something i thought id never hear.naturally, im more looking at SFxT since Rolento is coming but my optimism is tempered cause of this Pandora shit. i dont care if it can make you lose the game automatically, its a “feature” the game didnt need as its crazy enough already. i might just play it with you guys and see if thats a game i want to invest in or not. and id totally like to play some VF5:FS if anybody wants to play, but im not holding my breath.
its alot of fun. thing is, if you do decide to play it, take EVERY chance and opportunity to play the Quest mode you get. That way you can play with your main all bling’d out and shit and it looks awesome. probably th only fighting game ive ever played where you gotta work to make it look pretty.
