The Official Fullmetal Alchemist Thread

Yea, but if you’ve read the manga then u know his madness is justified later on. All those lil hints they give u in the filler.

Yeah, I felt kinda bad for Ice Dude.

The little flash shots of Father was a nice touch though.

Oh? Very interesting. I haven’t followed the manga for a long while, so it’s interesting to hear that the original ep does have it’s relevance/hints to the overall plot.

It was kind of surprising to hear how Issac’s VA was known to play cool/calm characters go all crazy like that. Almost thought it wasn’t him at first.

Okay. Much thanks! I’m going to wait on the dub, as I enjoyed FMA’s dub quite a bit.

Man, you’re gonna be waiting for a while. Just watch the subs man.

I was disappointed at first, because the impression I got from the trailers was that it was going to follow the manga exactly. Well, now that I know different, it’s still some good shit. I like the fact that they’ve incorporated more humour, with the running jokes and the “silly” way Al and Ed is drawn.

I guess it’s much better if the show adds in a lot of extra stuff… it would be boring just watching what you’ve already read.

I personally don’t mind that at all (if it’s executed well like in the 1st episode), but that would pretty much defeat the purpose of the remake which manga readers have been clamoring for years.

You wouldn’t believe the hate from some of the aforementioned manga readers which the original series got for just being different right midway through the series - even if it was quite excellent in it’s own way.

First ep. was good indeed; Young Hoeinheim? Father? Fuck yeah.
…but after seeing the preview for the next ep. I think I’ll pause for now and catch up in May.

Ice Alchemist was great. Kinda sad he’s gone.

I can’t wait till they get to where the manga starts to really diverge, it should be caps lock hype.

I have to say. . .that 1st episode of FMA was some of the best filler I’ve seen in my life. It hit the exact tone of the manga, had all the short jokes, all the characters acted like they normally would, and the Ice Alchemist was pretty badass.

I can only hope that the anime follows the manga and streamlines it. The latter chapters of the manga have the problem of being bogged down in pointless scenes and lots of fighting panels.

werd. funi’s dub is quite excellent. one of my favorites

saw the episode just now. this first time i’ve watched anime in about a year and a half. good ass episode. i get more and more excited to see some parts of this manga animated.

I’m a patient guy. :bgrin:

Is it wrong that I am homo for shirtless Armstrong?

^ It’s undoubtedly the combination of his well built and highly toned muscles and the presence of those shiny luminescent sparkles that surround him hypnotized you to adhere to his charms.

Seriously though, Armstrong is indeed awesome.

Armstrong is one manly man.

Its weird hearing Mustangs new voice actor. I like this voice actor, but it just feels out of place…maybe its just because im used to the other one.

Where was Hohenheim?

Well the animation is looking really good so far.

I also miss Roy’s old voice actor and i have to say i find it disturbing that when Armstrong talks, they don’t make him speak through his mouth anymore, but rather through his mustache or some junk.

In the opening animation, as I can recall.

It’s been like that since the last series too, IIRC.

Ah your right, i guess i read too much manga and forgot since his mouth does move time to time in there
