the MC Dreampad did not work…it seems to me that MCs aren’t compatible…can somebody tell me one besides the Sega Pad that WILL ACTUALLY work…plz, no maybes.

All DC pads have a 5v coming in. The VMU gets power from it. You can actually tap it before it gets to the pcb. I posted a link, somewhere in the thread, that shows the pinout, maybe I will find the link later.

Make sure to tap the 5v wire, and don’t break the connection.
I never wired p360 to MC dreampad but I am 100% sure there is 5v.
should work but I dont know where exactly you get the 5v from that pad.

yes there was a 5v source but when i hooked it up, it did the same exact thing like the PS2 DF did…so i’m assuming it was an analog controller and P360s are not compatible with analog. i also tested the 5v with a multimeter…can someone tell me of a successful story where they used a DC pad besides the Sega Pad where it actually worked?
Did you make your 2player template using MSWord like the capcom 6 button template he has? Cuz I want to make my own and shit and what MSW tools did he/you used fo rthe circles/alignment and shit. Thanks dawg.
Eh dawg actually my secret is this, get that one that is made with word then highlight the CP that the guy made. Then open up MS Paint. Paste it in there and you can make your own CP. It worked perfect for me man. You all should try it. I have made every button layout for single and dual stick known to the gamming world (not driving games, only arcade stick/button games). Thanx.

That’s cool, thanks. I really don’t want to do the copy/paste thing, just wanted to know how did he get the dashes and circles and everything so ‘perfect’ you know. Doesn’t matter know though, cuz I’m gonna do what you said, but I’m going to play around with it in MSword and see how I can alter it. Reason is, all my cp have my version of the jap/agetec buttons layout and It’s kinda hard to keep making my cp layout the exact same way as my last as far as centered, buttons being too high/low, far or too close to the joystick so you see what I’m talking about now. I also just started putting the start button on the upper left corner of all my sticks to avoid accidental resets/pausing in matches when mashing.
rotendo you can use photoshop for that. just put the grid on an snap to grid. or if you have autocad it’s even much easier cus autocad was made for that kind of stuff.

if not what is involved and how much would it cost in putting in a japanese style joystick (I suppose I’d live with the buttons since that’s too much effort). I have never soldered or worked with engineering stuff at all nor can I read diagrams of circuitry and stuff. Would it be a lost cause for me to try and replace the bat with the ball style?
Hey man, what’s up?! Actually no, it isn’t a lost cause. All you do is buy the MAS stick and then buy a seperate ball top JAP stick and just switch the wires fromt the joy on the MAS to the JAP. Since they have the same solder points and everything it is really easy.
Also MAS doesn’t sell the ball style sticks nor do they switch their button layout.
If you want I am selling my MAS Stick. Just PM if you want more details. Hell maybe I can even switch the wires and all for you. Thanx.

actually for the jap stick you would have to route the wood or else the shaft will be really short. Just route it until 1/8" is left.
