Left side held in my hand. Right side on my right leg.
Good luck HervE, there’s some good builders here like I told you. You never know, someone might just be able to do it.
I’ve got some question that relate to the woodwork of a stick I plan to make this summer. I’m trying to get my boxtop like that Geif stick byrdo designed Picture Of Stick. I took a really expensive piss the other day (city fine expensive) so I’m really trying to keep my costs down by buying as few tools as possible (increased difficulty and all).
What I want to know is this:
**1) Can the dremel be used as a jigsaw or table-saw substitute with the right bit?
- Can the dremel be used to bore button & stick holes.**
Thanks in advance for any help I can get.
Oh, sweet Jesus, you are going to butcher that shit to hell if you try it.
Can it be done? Yes. Will you be happy with the results? NO!
Really, save up and at least purchase a cheap power dril and hole-saw. You can avoid purchasing a table saw by having Home Depot or Lowe’s or whoever cut the wood for you when you buy it as long as there are no diagonal cuts. As long as everything is 90 angles, you’re good.
Also, do not skimp on the sand paper. You don’t have to purchase any power sanders or even sanding blocks. I use a small piece of 2X4 as a sanding block, and all is well. But go through the grits from course to extra fine on all exterior surfaces in preparation of paint or what have you. It makes a huge difference and doesn’t cost much extra.
can someone point me to somewhere that shows me how to solder micro switches to an xbox or ps2 pcb. I tried to just “wing it” last nite and it didnt really happen. I couldnt get any solder to really stick anywhere even after i scrached the hell out of the points.
i broke all my little crimp disconnect things so when i soldered onto the copper points on my sanwa i had to superglue it afterwards or else they’d come off will even a gentle tug. dunno why it wouldn’t solder on strongly . superglue works.
The trick to soldering is to heat up ALL parts to be soldered.
Sure, liquified solder will move around, but once it cools, it will only bond to surfaces that were hot enough to make it a liquid.
Look at a plumber closely, he always heats the pipe with a torch, but never lets the solder see the torch. The solder is melted by the heat of the pipe itself.
Soldering flux works wonders also. It allows heat conduction and makes the solder flow.
Truth! I never attempt to solder anything without flux!
Hey I was wondering what is the Best arcade stick for me to buy in a store or online? I may get that tekken 5 stick, but people have told me mixed things about it. Any suggestions?
Hori Real Arcade Pro is what most people would recommend, although the shipping is quite steep. The cheaper alternative is like you said the T5 stick.
What happened to MAS sticks? Has something better come along or are they just not good anymore?
Seems like the latest craze is Sanwa. MAS is still around but for the about the same price you can get a custom stick, american or japanese.
ok so i wired up the xbox pcb but i still have one problem, how do i solder wires up to the triggers do i pull the potentiometer off or what. i have no idea. any help would be good.
Maybe it’ll be better if I contract this to the lowest bidder. Here is my artwork with the buttons where I want them: http://students.uta.edu/eo/eom2154/blankastick.gif. Anyone that’s interested in building the box shoot me a PM with your price … AKA Holla at ya boy.
