The official Cthulhu and ChImp thread - Try our new Dreamcast flavor!

I’ve also emailed him (2 different emails) with no response. It’s frustrating because I could really use the PCB I ordered, now I’m wondering if I should try and cancel and order a different one from someone else.

Let us know if you do; I’m thinking the same. Not sure how to go about trying to cancel though?

Just got notice that mine has shipped!

Really? I’ve been waiting for my order for 4 weeks now and I got nothing. Glad that you’re getting your order.

Yeah… says it’ll be here Saturday (multi console cthulhu). Maybe the website is out of date in terms of what’s in stock or not…

Its only one guy running the site on his off time

Still, it would be nice if he let people know what’s going on with the orders. It’s been a month now and I’ve heard nothing. That’s no excuse.

@mdmitch2 curious if you got your order in, i want to order something from him.

Yes! I got it today (Multi console cthulhu), and hooked it up to the PS4 for SFV, and it works great! Very happy.

Does anyone have any issues using a Chimp modded 360 TE with PS4 on Street Fighter V? It totally works, but jab/strong are inverted. I checked the wiring and tested on PS3/360 and they are not inverted. On PC, I just force PC mode (holding down short, strong, roundhouse) and it also is not inverted. I was thinking I’d just resolder and switch the connections of jab/strong (1P/2P) on the Chimp board since I don’t play on PS3/360. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue. Also, I cannot get the guide button to work on PC. It doesn’t show up as a registered button using device manager, so it probably means there’s a short somewhere. I’ve read that I need to wire the HOME point to XGUID on the turbo panel of my TE R1.

you should upload your wiring job, so we can see what have you done

The CHIMP worked fine on the ps4 on SFV via my modded TE stick. I don’t have any issues with any button’s being mapped incorrectly. I also got the brooks converter(white) now and it’s pretty sweet. Sometimes my stick acts weird in legacy controls but 99% of the time it’s fine, which is why i got the brooks converter.

On Microsoft OS

Guide button on Xbox controllers don’t show up on the Controller Properties/Device Manager.
Blame Microsoft for that one.

The Xbox guide button on Windows only works with select Microsoft applications.
Its not even fully implemented in Windows 7, I can speak for Win 8/8.1 but it does being up a menu in Win 10.

Still does not show up in the Controller Properties screen.

As far as PS4 compatibility goes
Sony Dual Shock 4 > Official 3rd Party wired controllers > Unofficial 3rd Party controllers/Converters > Legacy Controllers
That said only the last category Legacy Controllers are the one that going to give you actual trouble.

As of now the Official and unofficial controllers are lacking all the features the Dual Shock 4 has.
No tilt control, in controller speaker, headphone jack, until recently no touch pad or RGB Light.

Unofficial and converters are place where they are only because a PS4 firmware update can render the device unusable for the PS4.
But the good thing is Brook Accessories been really good about getting firmware fixes for their devices in a timely manner. Usually in a few days at most.
That said, I still really like how Brook Accessories converters work. Right now they are the only brand I recommend for the PS4.

Anyone know how I can transfer a ChImpSMD that was installed in my Xbox 360 TE-S to a Custom Stick that has a Paewang Installed?

I know I’m going to have to get rid of the Paewang but idk what wires I’m suppose to move from the TE-S to my custom, everything is already set up I just have to transfer it.

everything is labeled, just move that shit

I don’t know what to do about the wires near the guide button on the TE-S

you’re moving the chimp? Just remove everything connected to it and put it in the custom.

I don’t see why you can’t transfer the Chimp SMD.
Moving Wires? How clean you want your build to look?

I miss @Toodles

Was there ever a definitive answer on the TG/Duo support? I’ve taken apart both style of controllers, traced all the circuits, and tried every logical combination of wiring for the cthulhu and nothing works on either console. The main reason I decided to go with RJ-45 was to use a stick for the shmups on my turbo systems but I can’t figure out how.
