These boards seem to be sold out everywhere. Estimated times the will be available?
Iâm putting together one for LL now. Naregâs got lots.
Iâve still got 60 boards, I hadnât put the ones that came in the package today up on the site yet.

Oh, damn Iâm an idiot. I thought that came in a while ago for some reason. Glad to know your stocked.

This thread just grows too quickly⌠what is a ChImp ?
If itâs what I assume it is, could it be used as an MC cthulhu+Imp if I pop my 18LF2450 PIC in there ?
Another stupid ass question:
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/2005/img45533.jpg
Thatâs whatâs in my stick. Do I need a chip or something more (I just want it to play PS2 games, it plays PS3 games already)?
:3?
A ChImp is a Cthulhu + Imp, no MC option. If you need older consoles then get the MC Cthulhu and an Imp.
hey toodles,
it looks like i need another chimp (for another customer), so can you just ship the chip with the new board when i order it (tomorrow).
also, just completed a dual-mod with a TE stick and it went smooth as butter. no problems with auto-detect or the PC. in additionâŚi can confirm that holding lk, mp, hk forces the chimp into 360 mode on my PC.
You need the MC upgrade and a PS2 cable. What you have is the plain Cthulhu. You will need to un-stick the board and solder in some diodes and the wires of the PS2 cable. The chip swaps out. Check the first post for purchasing directions.
Is Toodles the only one I can get the upgrade from (meaning lizardlick and such donât have it)?
Same with the PS2 cable?
Iâll have to have a friend do this, Iâm god awful with electronics.
Sorry for the stupid questions again.
>_<
I got a few dual mods to do soon and am considering a few ChImps.
Thanks for clearing that question up for me Kaytrim
@ Master Chibi - All the info you need is in the first post.
You will need the upgrade kit and a psx extension cable or you could even take a cable from a control pad. (just remember your pins)
Toodles was nice enough to write us up a set of Instructables.
Previous Page.
You donât have a spare PlayStation or PlayStation 2 Controller?
I donât know how else to get a Cable.
do a search for a âplaystation 2 extension cableâ. You will get all kinds of hits. You can also do the same for the GameCube extension cables.
Michael
I might have an extra cable laying around somewhere, but I suppose I could just buy another controller cheap.
So then I guess I just have to put an order in for the upgrade kit.
hi there. i have a question, and there are TOO many pages thru which to search. i wired my mc cthulhu (bought pre-assembled) as shown in the welcome doc and, after loading v1.3 firmware and confirming it works on pc, i ran the âgame controllersâ control panel to check buttons. my ps2 controller (using a usb converter) has the four face buttons mapped as 1:triangle, 2:circle, 3:cross, 4:square (clockwise starting from top), but it seems the cthulhu stick has the face buttons mapped as 1:square, 2:cross, 3:circle, 4:triangle (counter-clockwise starting from left). the triggers & bumpers are mapped the same on both.
is this difference intentional, as in does the ps3 map the face buttons differently from the ps2? i wired the cthulhu acc. to the welcome docâs pics (1p to âsquare,â 2p to âtri,â etc), so i donât believe itâs me accidentally connecting them incorrectly. i have yet to test it on an actual ps3, so i donât know whatâll happen there yet.
Master Chibi, I think everyone has you straightened out. Speak up if youâre unclear on anything thatâs not covered in the first post. I should point out that I do sell PSX extension cords as well.

Iâm in the middle of adding to the FAQs about it. Check the first post.

Im not sure I understand what youâre thinking, but Im pretty sure the answer is no. Other Cthulhu chips will not properly work in a chimp board or visa versa.

Yeah, I can do that, but you better let me know how the start+select thing goes when you get them. Also please make a big all caps 'INCLUDE REPLACEMENT CHIMP V2" in the notes so I dont space it pls.

Let me know if you have any problems with your board. I think youâll find the mappings on the Cthulhu quite sensible.
Yeah I should be good, Iâll be ordering tomorrow, thanks everyone.
Toodles you are awesome. I want to order mine but Ill have to wait tell I can get some cash to spend on one and all the rest of the parts to make a stick. Im excited to make mine. :]
Since this was the last post a couple pages back and Toodles posted just a few minutes later I donât think anyone ever saw it so Iâll put it back. And just to update a little, everything is still working great.

Okay, so hereâs an update on my situation. When LuckyDay asked me to take a pic of the back of the 360 pcb I unscrewed the screws that were holding it down. When I was putting it back the way it was the screws werenât going in all that smooth so I left some room between the wood and the pcb. And voila! When I went to test it out again on my 360 I was using, it crapped out on me and red-ringed.
So I hook up another 360 that my son has with my harddrive attached and the controller doesnât do the pause thing I was having issues with on the other system. Now my last question on this subject (hopefully), is it possible that the wire(s) on the back of the pcb were being smashed and for some reason when I hit all 6 buttons it would pause? BTW, SF on the PS3 works fine also.
