The Official Convention Thread

I was able to get you 1.

They were very particular with handing them out.
If you admitted you didn’t play you didn’t get one, etc.

I only got one so’s I could have directions to the party on Saturday.

PM me for the code.

SDCC was a blast, despite plane trouble making me miss all of Thursday.
I ended up doing over 40 or so sketches at the NCSoft booth.
I had to turn about half of that number of people away because there just wasn’t enough time/slots.

cool thanks, PM is on its way

Cool thanks for sharing!

do you do comissions apathy?

… My Deadpool-sense is tingling!

Maybe you can get a drawing of your new baby dressed in a chibi Deadpool outfit or something.

maybe

I do indeed.

hrm. my deadpool sense is strongly tingling. i need to get one soon before you get famous. cause when you od, i won’t be able to afford it.

lemme know when you get some stuff published. i’ll pick up a copy or two if i find them

Something tells me you’ve got some time.

Here’s a video the KPBS took of me while I was sketching at the NCSoft booth.

Obviously not in “real time”, but I can dream.

anyone else grab a code for me? If so please send me a PM. thanks

Big up to Amputekthure for hooking me up with this Gouki sketch by Joe NG at SDCC! :woot:

He also got me the three covers of SF Remix #0, a Chun-Li SF4 figure, a Street Fighter IV Ryu headband, a ‘We Love Golf’ mini golf bag for my Wii-Mote, and not related to SF but he also gave me an Ecto-1 License plate, you know that car from Ghostbusters!

Ah, wish I was there in person. Maybe one of these years.

Just out of curiosity, what do you do with the sketches you collect? Frame them and hang 'em on your wall? Store them in a binder? Shove them in a drawer so they won’t collect dust? Sell them on eBay?

Scan them so I can share them with others and keep them in white boxes with my comics. That’s for the small ones. For the bigger stuff - well, really only one big one, the Blair sketch from Omar Dogan - theres folders I hold them in where I have copies of pencil art pages.

I got a fan art of Morrigan that was painted in color and I had that one framed. I will probably put that away at some point and replace it with another poster or frame.

I don’t have that many sketches, I’ve placed them all on this thread at one point or another. All of them have been from Udon and Capcom related so far. At next year’s NY comic con I’ll find someone to draw me a Shuma-Gorath sketch on that extra blank cover I got while looking for something for someone to sketch Deadpool for Pained Auron. I’m sure I’ll have to bring a lot of reference for that one…

Maybe I’ll get a Spider-Man one but I’m kind of particular how I want Spider-Man to look - big eyes and the webs have to be a certain way - that there’s a big chance I won’t dig it, I guess I’d have to bring reference for that too… I mean if it’s someone like Bagley or JRjr no worries but I doubt I’ll be able to get them to do sketches for me at a reasonable price. If Udon comes back to NY I might just bug one of them for a Spidey sketch. Alvin Lee drew a cool Spidey in the Marvel Adventures Free Comic Book Day issue that came out earlier this year.

Once again, if anyone is going to PAX, http://www.pennyarcadeexpo.com/faqs.php , Aug 28-31 2008,

I would like 2 of those passes if its possible, I really wish they would either come to one I could visit or just stop doing that altogether :shake:

Thanks :china:

You can learn Japanese at the NY Anime Festival! Well you can attend an introductory course at the very least.

Yea, from what I hear, the Japan Society will be there giving an intro lesson:wgrin:

I was sent a form to get a professional pass, but I’m afraid to send it since I’m not @ Midtown anymore. Hmm decisions, decisions…:looney:

zephy, sano, akutabi, clint, GP we need to go to comic con one year

What would be good for everyone, San Diego? Wondercon? I’m in NY, far away from most of you.

If not '09 than '10. I want to go back to Japan next year so that’s probably where most of my money will go. Um, if I have any money… Obama get to work… :wonder:

But hey if you guys get together without me man take lots of pictures!

Psht, Sano. You make so much bank as it is. All you gotta do is don’t buy any comics for, like, two weeks, and you’ll have saved enough money to fly out to any West Coast convention.
