Activision. Activision only there. They’re forcing IW to do this shit. I wouldn’t be surprised if we found out Supply Drops were all Activision’s idea in the first place and Sledgehammer just got an unlucky roll of the dice as to who goes first.
The the M16 on a rare supply drop in BO3. It feels like a XR-2/M8A7 but with rapid fire already equipped. I need to unlock all the attachments to get a real feel of this gun.
Got a nuke with the Rift E9. Almost went flawless but I fell off the map right before the match ended.
I did actually earn enough parts to get one DLC gun…as for this while it’s good they are learning? it still is wasted on a bland game. Let me know when BO3 drops their guns as available for everyone.
They aren’t learning anything. They would have put those guns in supply drops if they felt they could get away with it. There’s just some reason they felt they couldn’t. Maybe a dropping playerbase or something. That’s my take on it anyway.
But man, it’s been sad to see the utter lack of confidence regarding IW on behalf of Activision and Infinity Ward. They HAD to hold Modern Warfare Remastered hostage to get people to buy it, and they were *right *to do that. I wouldn’t have bought IW without COD4R attached.
I’m just afraid of what will happen with Supply Drops at this point if there’s a real, legit drop in sales. IW was still the best selling game of 2016, but what if the next COD were to drop to 5th or 6th? I have the sinking feeling Activision will only get more brazen with the Drops if that happens. Drops and DLC made them 3+ billion last year. It seems logical to double down on what’s making money if the main game isn’t selling that well.
They do need to rework more than supply drops, but the Drops could easily spread like a cancer. They could start locking cool gameplay stuff behind them. Hell, they already have, if the rumors are to be believed. The modded killstreaks from AW are returning for IW in supply drops. Who knows what else the could do if they feel they have a reason to?
On the other hand i cant stand MWRs janky ass maps, my favorite ones are the ones where its more urban with buildings to go inside. Thats def something the later games lack
It was mentioned in the Video Game Thread, but COD4 Remastered will have a Variety Map Pack coming out. In this pack, you get the four DLC maps COD4 originally had. Broadcast, Creek, Chinatown, and Killhouse. You also have to pay 20 bucks to get them. Ugh.
I’m wondering something here: is there any reason other than greed for Activision to be nickel-and-diming people like this for Call of Duty? Infinite Warfare didn’t sell as well as they’d hoped, but it was still the best selling game of 2016. Is that just not saying much anymore?
It’s simple. They realize that the CoD Name luster is dwindling so they’re trying to milk every last dime they can get out of consumers. Their time is almost over.
That’s the problem though. They’re so brazen with it now that more and more people can now tell they’re putting money first and trying to milk them. That can’t be good long term. Seems like it’ll only kill the series faster.
