The Official Borderlands 3 thread.... EXPLOSIONS!

This isnt even about entitlement. At this point all of this arguing is supposed to be good end of capitalism. Consumers voice what they want at a company. In this case they want the game in a non-intrusive sales platform where they’ve already bought the previous 2. Also one without intrusive bots.

Also BL2 has hella story stuff that isnt memes. Dont know about BL1 because the PS3 digital version of that locks up at random, thus making the game unplayable.

BL1’s story is pretty thin. You show up on a planet, get the means to travel around, find three pieces of a key, the twist, and the finale. That’s it.

Borderlands 1 barely has characters lol.

Even still, the campaign was fun. You can play solo or in a party of 4 I believe.
Harkons back to the days when Diablo was good but as a 3D shooter.

Fuck Massive Multiplayer, we got too many of those.

Neither did Diablo 1. Single player was still a lot of fun.

Still haven’t played BL2 in multiplayer. Not from lack of @Azure offering though. BTW, Steam is Pertho14 if any of you guys feel like adding me.

I’ve been playing the Hell out of the Remaster of BL1.

Since I bought it before Randy went full retard, I figured I might as well get my money’s worth.

Got my Lili to 37, farming the Fastness, got a decent Hellfire, Defiler, Anarchy, and a Thanatos, and went straight to the Underdome to nab that skill point, beat Playthrough 1, started PL2, and immediately hit the Underdome for that second dose of unmitigated bullshit for a measly skill point.

Solo Underdome is a bitch.

Got 'em both, 'doe.

Is that Pertho LA, or Pertho Iowa?

Epic isn’t going to win this one.

I will not support “piracy” by doing so.

But I shall tangentially support them by not buying Borderlands 3, full stop.

And I shall be rooting for the Black Sails.

And I say this as an ex-fan, who is currently sitting on a couch in his study, playing BL1 Remastered.

I feel bad because the people who end up getting shafted are the ones who put in all the hardwork into BL3. This guy made a terribad business decision, then tripled down, then epic joins the fray…

Whole situation is silly. I understand that people publishers are going to want alternatives to steam. Capitalism as a system is going to want them to exists for the good of everybody. But the option can’t be that the you go with the botnet distributor.

Its a weird combination of issues going on with this and a lot of hardworking game devs are getting caught in the cross fire. What’s better is that it wont’ be the upper level management that gets punished for it either.

Market Economies are going to want them to exist for the good of everybody.

In fact a healthy Market Economy would want all sorts of competition.

Capitalism is all about those monopolies.

But Steam has competition on PC.

Far better competition than Epic, too, as far as consumer rights and benefits go.

I buy off of GoG if given the option at a competitive price.

I like my offline to be truly offline.

I don’t use Steam or any of those fucking clients. I buy off GOG and pretty much no where else. They sell me games, not games that only work when I have the stupid ass net client running to.

Yup.

What I said. :+1:t2::+1:t2:

Steam can be used offline.

I have it set up that way.

The fact that I have to set it up that way, is kinda borked.

It ought to be the default option.

Which is why GoG is my go-to on PC.

And if you look at Tim’s statement, its a empty promise at best, and at worst a really shitty ultimatum to Valve, who just going to look at that Tweet, laugh their asses off and would not sweat waiting a year to get BL3 anyways.

“Epic would hastily organize a retreat from exclusives (while honoring our partner commitments)”
Which means absolutely NOTHING. You are still going to have Exclusives because you are going to “Honor” your partner commitments.

And then
“and consider putting our own games on Steam”.
Which also means jack-shit, as the words consider is what I and many people would say when we really don’t want to do it but we want to sound nice about it.

And Also since Time Sweeney was nice enough to pull his Tweet, because you see in the Video, every comment he got was negative. I hope Sweeney bankrupts Epic, their Partners pull out from the store or sue for the damages they receive as No one wants to deal with the Train Wreck that is the Epic Store.

Epic has backtrack on their word before. During GDC an executive of Epic games said on Twitter they won’t do anything like the Metro Exodus debacle again only for Sweeney to contradict the statement saying Epic will continue to offer exclusives and not caring how it disrupts the current plan for the exclusive game. His word means nothing.
