Mine will probably be XCOM: Enemy Unknown but I don’t think the strategy genre gets enough attention for one of its games to ever have a shot at winning. Nor do strategy gamers care enough about these press awards to make enough noise (we’re more concerned over if the game will turn out any good).
Sleeping Dogs should win biggest surprise of the year however.
The excitement I felt when it loaded… I was squealing and gripping my 360 controller hella hard. Big Screen mode is so legit. The interface is nice as fuck.
BL2 does seem harder overall. I find myself running out of ammunition more often, though that may be because I’m getting crap-for-drops (first shotgun had the “fires as fast as you can click” prop… only to have to reload every shot. Now I have an explosive one that eats up ammo like no tomorrow). I just want an SMG already. Also no inventory-accessible health potions unless I’m being a dumbass, which is very likely (I kept forgetting to use Phaselock for about half of Flynt’s ship, lol. The headshots it lets you set up are glorious, though).
Fun so far, though. Doesn’t have BL1’s empty lull periods in between action. Should be even more fun with friends tomorrow.
Picking it up at 10, I hope it’s not like the first title where I’m the only one that isn’t a Siren online. Tired of those bitches using Flash speed to dart to objectives, die, and blame me for being to slow while I mop up everything with EXPLOSIONS FIST Brick.
Anyone know what having Borderlands Uno data does for this game? It checked at the beginning when I started it up, sadly my data wasn’t on this HD though I still have the game disc so can go through if need be, given that it’s worth it.
Tried out Salvadore the Gunserker and it’s not the same, not a fan of his double weapon power and while I can tank I still felt rather weak. Switched to Zero since he has a strong Melee attack like Brick did, and I can pretend to be Storm Shadow or Solid Snake.
I started a game with Axton today. Reminds me of a better Roland. His turret can shoot 360 degrees, but it doesn’t have a shield (unless you get the skill for it).
