So is Maya an effective healer? Just got the game and I want to roll support with my friend who are going to tear the crap out of this up! I loved Roland’s shoot/healing grenades back in the first game. That and the turret gave out some wonderful buffs. Is there any character like that now?
Yes. Her entire “Harmony” Tree is designated towards healing.
Fuck, this game sounds fun. Guess I’ll have to pick it up since I’m out of 1 player games now.

Sheeeit, I didn’t even think about launchers with Zer0’s action skill yet… interesting. The boost to the damage on that if you fire at the last possible second of his invisibility must be insane. So far, I’ve only used sniper rifles, pistols and the occasional shotgun with him. With Sal I’m using shotguns and assault rifles mostly.
*The Jakobs’ brand pistols are so amazing early on… they fire as fast as you can pull the trigger, so it’s like you have a machine gun in pistol form depending on how fast you can pull a trigger.
Oh snap, I need to donate about $5000 more to Moxxi.
I don’t use Jakobs guns, but I found a really nice rifle that does high damage. The kind of damage you might expect from a sniper rifle, not from an automatic.
Problem is if it’s Jakobs then it isn’t automatic, only shoots as fast as you pull the trigger. Unless you have a modded controller and a fuck ton of Accuracy enhancements then it’s a single shot.
are you supposed to explore and keep playing the same spots over and over to level up before moving on through the story?

Just finished my Commando playthrough really awesome game, bit on the short side. Onto the Siren!
Meatshots on Phased enemies is always nice if you’ve got a good shotgun and aren’t under too much fire/have a friend to distract. My problem is just finding a shotgun I like. I have a Hyperion that fires fast, reloads fast, has +50% melee, and has 3 shots per clip, but recently switched over to a Torgue that gibs most non-badasses with one meatshot but has a relatively slow reload and only two shots per clip. The explosions are also nice for second winds, but I just don’t like the feel of the gun itself. Then I have a new Jakobs that does insane damage but has to reload every shot and doesn’t have the explosive power of the Torgue. Dilemmas.
I like playing long-range Maya until I have to move into midrange with SMG and shotgun.
It’s funny I keep getting shotguns that have the “fires as fast as you pull the trigger” mod but have to reload after every shot. Though that’s because they’re Jakobs.
Bandit arena is addicting so far. I’m stopping myself so I can do it with friends.
I’ll probably switch back to SMGs once I find good elemental ones (currently have a Tediore electric in the pack). Higher ROF compared to ARs is better for elemental procs after all.
Haha I did the Challenge Level 3 for dealing Post-Slag damage to unlock the Maliwan Elegance skin for my Gunzerker. This would have been ideal had I not completed the challenge on my Assassin.
Jakobs is my favorite manufacturer. I try to stay away from Hyperion & Tediore if I can help it.
Just got the Vladof Sickle skin for Zero. I doubt I’ll ever change it.
Well after a few group hang-up’s and about three bugs where the enemy wouldn’t spawn, Jae and I successfully destroyed the arena and got the Achievement plus a crap ton of experience through a pretty good duo of damage soaking Tankzerker (Me) and Crowd control/Damaging Siren (Him).
Jae and Angelpalm also helped me grind out some annoying missions so I thank them for that.
Tankzerker is working out pretty well, but I’m just trying to emulate my old Brick build. I wish I had more than one super punch to bust up people with. Also I can’t find a good Assault Rifle to save my life. I just want a high damage automatic/semi Vladof or Dahl and I’ll be happy. I haven’t even seen a Maliwan one yet if they exist.
