So PC open beta cant play the Conquest map?

I have to download an app, sign into that app, then that app launches a web site, then that web site launches my game. They wrapped their game in a website wrapped in another app. It’s a terrible, terrible design, brings nothing to the table Steam doesn’t already do, and it’s already overloaded and showing errors left and right.

Through Twitter, the EA Community Manager is giving out the password to play on Caspian Border, though it only last for so long, then he throws another one up on his twitter. There’s only a handful of Caspian servers, like 15, and they’re all completely full, which blows. Finally one a round on Metro as assualt, and it was pretty nice.
Downloading it now. Will play later today =D
Just sounds like you’re a Steam fanboy to me Pimp Willy. I downloaded that app then updated it then I played. It was no hassle at all and took me only a couple minutes. I would have preferred to do this all on Steam myself but I cant so Im not gonna sit around bitching about it. I’ll just accept it and go with the flow. The flow was pretty smooth.
I played a couple matches on the PC a bit ago. Same game as the 360 (of course) but it looks so much better. Game ran fine with all the settings at high. I’ll try Ultra settings later and see how that works.

Also, it lets you…add your Xbox Live shit so friends from Live can find you on Origin but when I try to do that it says that someone with the same GT as mine is already in use. What the fucks up with that?

I wouldn’t say I’m a steam fan boy, but I can appreciate that what they have works seemlessly and gives me easy access to tons of PC games. I’m not going to load my PC with bullshit Steam clones every time a company releases a game since every company is going to want their own version of it. Origin brings nothing remotely useful to the table, and it’s a huge downside to the game. Luckily I’m able to get a feel for it during the Open Beta so I don’t have to spend $50 to figure out if I want to gamble on how Origin might ruin the experience.
As for the game itself, seems just sorta meh to me so far, of course the beta map is just sort of limited with that one mode anyway. And the 64 player map is pretty much chaos
edit: Put it this way, I want to game with my brother, but Origin isn’t letting me find him with a search, and when he friend requested me it hasn’t come through yet after 15 minutes. That sort of stuff is going to hurt this game if they don’t get it figured out

Played my first game. Holy shit, I’m so lost in that game. I’m so used to CoD that I tried to employ my tatics and I just get wrecked.
You gotta move slow and methodically in this game. Use prone a lot and move around in prone a lot. Mark/tag enemies that you see but cant kill or fail to kill. Communicate with your teammates and just work as a team. Have your sound at a decent level. Sound is…very helpful in this game. IMO
Totally agree, but this is what betas are for. As for Origin, I don’t have the hate for it like most people, but it doesn’t compare to Steam. However I do like the browser function, simple and clean.
it’s at a slower pace in this game…prone is your friend as is burst firing. Never go anywhere solo, this game requires patience of you will die a lot without helping anyone. good luck!
