I meant the AK is very average at everything. Looked like I said AUG lost out but I meant people pick the AUG because it doesn’t really lose out as much where the AK does. Changed the wording now.
I never use burst mode because of the initial recoil on the guns being much higher than the continued fire. When you use a burst then you only fire 3 bullets and then you are reset back to the initial recoil and the initial recoil is the hardest thing to counteract consistently because it can be so heavy and happen so often as well as burst fire weapons sometimes seeming to jam up. I would rather fire 5 bullets and know I’ve dropped the guy with a tap burst over being restricted by the 3 burst and then recoil reset with a chance for a gun jam.
Hey maybe you guys can help me with something (unless you already have a solid answer/truth) about the M16A3.
I’ve been noticing that, when I’m using this gun, (which is starting to become more frequent over my uses of
the F2000/AEK971) I get that no hands/gun/body glitch happening to me way too fucking much. It happens
nearly everytime I’m using it. It’s happened rarely on other guns but usually because I’m never using anything
else expect the other two I mentioned.
I seem to be getting it quite a lot in fact. It’s infuriating at times because I don’t want to have to suicide, even
though I know it’s the only way to reset this fucked glitch. -_-
I’m assuming that’s it’s only been happening since this last patch because I cannot clearly recall it ever happening
before. At all.
~K.
Finally finished the “Location Scout” assignment.
Never again…
Ha not going to go for the new one then?
I don’t really use the M16A3 but it has happened to me with other guns. I also seem to now get a bug where my camera pops out of what my view is and into the 3rd person view of a squad mate when they spawn so my body is still there and I am still controlling it but I am looking at the back of my squad mate, its really weird.
I also had a weird bug earlier when I was using Recon and just sniped someone with the M417 and went to place a beacon and defibs came out, then when I switched back to my gun it had become F2000.
Not worth the effort.
G3A3 is the best weapon in the game. That is all. If you haven’t been executing with this weapon, you’re missing an entire level of play.
Yeh, we discussed this before. Its awesome good. I was playing on a “competitive” server yesterday on Metro and destroying the opposition with the L85 and G3 which I wouldn’t normally use for close combat situations like that but as basically every bullet hits I was dropping 3-4 guys without reloading and with the L85 especially you can mag dump quite easily if you need to suppress, if people see a guy peeking and spraying then they quit often seem to think “Oh crap, bipod LMG” and then you reload faster than an LMG and they pop out thinking they have time to rush and you kill them.
Ha it will probably be the last one I get. F2000 was easy, I quite want the SCAR-H one because the green is so bright and it will go nicely with my bright green camo but people just don’t run over mines these days.
Yeah, the CQC of the G3A3 is constantly lauded as its worst feature, but at 34 damage a round… it just kills too fast for its slow rate of fire to have a severe effect on time to kill. A chest and headshot (with its vertical recoil, extremely common) is instant death. The recoil and kick of the weapon is considered one of the reasons why nobody uses this weapon, but the kick goes straight up. I mean, like a direct line. I request anyone who didn’t like this weapon, to open fire full burst on a wall in front of them and look at the bullet traces. You won’t find a more reliable form of recoil. It’s like the old school weapons of shooters past. Master it with a good downward slide of the mouse, and you’re death at all distances. (Can’t say how it’d be for those on console…)
They rally dropped the ball with the “EXCLUSIVE PREMIUM FEATURES” stuff by giving cammos for the same guns!
Who gives a flying green fuck about Camos, they can take them all out for all I care. They can take their Easy Bake Oven knife back as well.
It’s not that they’re the same guns for me, its that most of them suck. Help me make the G3, L86, L85, M417, M98B look pretty and lovely and beautifully decorated and we are set but the F2000 never really recovered from its over nerf in the 1st patch. L96 is just bleugh. PKP is like pissing into the toilet through a fan, it just goes every where and puts your accuracy stat down. I like the SCAR though so at least I have bright green for that.
At least the SCAR-H is useful.
I want my A91 back to prepatch godliness.
Speaking of Carbines I started using the “unbalanced” M4A1 as my Close/Mid-range Carbine of choice, with the ACR used for long-range.
I still see people running around with ANY belt-fed LMG that isn’t named the LSAT or Type 88 and spraying like retards -_- Don’t they know you can use the damned magazine-fed ones if you want to be a mobile Support?
Well, to their credit~ a lot of the belt-fed LMGs with high damage modifiers really work well for run and gun simply due to the way their damage works. An M60 in the face is several hard hitting shots nailing you at 34 damage a piece. If any of them are headshots, and the likelyhood of an ADS sighted M60 user using it is pretty high~ you’re going to go down fast as hell. With an x2 modifier on the head, I don’t have to say just how much damage one to the chest and another two the head can be. The same applies to the PKP~ which can kill you before most assault rifles if he has a bead on you.
What about the M249 SAW? It has the same damage as an Assault Rifle or Carbine.
The other belt-fed LMG’s have silly recoil to balance them out(Outside of the M60) it’s funny seeing a dude spray at me from a corner with his M249/M240B and only hit me like twice XD
M249 is great because of it’s high rate of fire, but it has, like you pointed out~ the exact same damage modifier as a AR/Carbine with an 800 rpm rate of fire. It’s competetive, especially with it’s higher capacity magazine for a sustained firefight. Seine Crossing, Caspian~ any mid-range engagement with multiple mobiles and the 249 will give the Support gunner an edge if he has any defilade at all. (Very annoying if they’re in an elevated position, bipod or not)
However for CQC, you’re going to be dealing with ARs with 800-1000 rpms of precision steel coming at you. Trying to even kill someone with a fast firing PDW like a P90 is a challenge. You see a LOT of M60/M240B support because of this, because they don’t want to compete with those ROFs. They want to stomp them quickly.
So the 249 is great, medium engagement~ ready position, multiple aggressors. Bad in close combat, popup/surprise engagements against AR/Carbine/PDW operators.
Fuck, I’m such a nerd.
Sorry for the doublepost~ but forgot to mention the M249 is probably the best suppression creator in the game, which makes it a natural counter to slow-firing support gunners and snipers, and Assault players that use slower, higher-damage/range ARs like the L85 and G3A3. It’s kind of ironic that while the M60/M240B/PKP are preferred against most players versus the 249, that the 249 would be the weapon that can best answer it in the loadout.
That said I haven’t bought Close Quarters so I haven’t used the LSAT, etc~ CQ doesn’t look worth the money mapwise, but damn I want the weapons. :<
The MP7 is my 5th most used weapon =D
- M4A1
- AN -94
- AEK-971
- M16A3
- MP7
I don’t use the AN-94/M16A3 anymore they’ve been replaced by the AUG A3 and the L85A2.
