man murray got so caught up in the first 2 sets of trying to play STRICTLY to feds backhand and not mixing that shit up whatsoever. it’s true feds backhand is his weaker side but it’s hella underrated because his forehand is a killer. in the 3rd set murray finally mixed it up and made fed think, well it was too late then son. IF murray would have won that breaker his body wouldn’t have survived the 4th set let alone the 5th.
looks like nadal won’t be 100 percent for the french, GG tour fed is gonna win the french. i’m betting on him winning the calendar grandslam.
i was disappointed with murray as well, i feel the same way he didnt mix it up enough only hitting to feds backhand, feds forehand isnt that amazing when its not on his terms so people shouldnt be afraid to mix it up to his forehand. whatever, maybe next time.

If you hit it to Federer’s forehand and he’s not shanking balls like first set Davydenko, he will make you pay. If your balls sits up just slightly he will run around and blast it, either hitting a winner or setting himself up to be in control. Murray just needs a looping lefty forehand with western grip ala Nadal.
and a fresh set of balls(no homo). between him and djokovic they can come up with the lamest possible injuries/problems when they start losing. they both need to learn to man up on the big stage. i’ve never seen nadal or fed play with the back or thighs for a set when they are down to give excuse unto why they are losing.
ive seen nadal use injury excuses, the lamest one being an injury time out for blisters on his feet. it was against ferrer or ferrero one of them, on clay. i almost started laughing.
also, thats why i said to hit forehands not on his terms, meaning when you are set up to smack a solid shot to his forehand, nothing defensive. people also need to start making him pay for his slice backhand return, however that is probably easier said than done, that thing looks like it has so much fucking slice. you could serve and volley but there are not that many who would do it successfully. they asked some legend, i forgot who maybe borg, how he would beat fed and he said he would serve and volley more so maybe he sees something there as well.

Yeah, I agree. The key shot to beat Federer is an outstanding up the line shot to his forehand with the backhand if you are right handed. Nalbandian has it, Davydenko had it for a set and a half, and Safin from the old days. Murray has a solid enough backhand for that.
