Are you guys playing on xbox live?

You guys need a lot of work. By that I’m being EXTREMELY nice.

wtf is this? wtf?

I don’t mean to be mean, but that was very painful to watch. I can’t believe you guys included your names up there too like it was professional.

Random GROUND hurricanes? WITH KEN?
Unpunished sweeps when you could’ve done c.mk into SA3?
I don’t even think Ken even did a shippu in that first match.
Ken is not supposed to use that much ex moves unless its an air hurricane or ex fireball for pressure.

I could go all day on this. Even with ryu.

Damn deviljin, you were really being nice. Even if that was on xbox live, those would still be considered scrubby vids. And that’s putting it nicely too.

On another note, nice vids naz. Good plays from both shotos. UOH xx super for teh win!!

No. Just, no. I closed that window the second I saw what looked like a RH or Forward Tatsumaki at the start of the round. Even I can pull a match better than that.

On another note, it doesn’t even matter that Ken didn’t even use Jinrai. Sometimes I don’t even use it unless it’s for punishment. The fact is that, upon rewatching, the matches are slow, ridiculous, and repetitive at times. In fact, I even edited this post also to remind me that I just watched three hurricane kicks in a row. And, sadly, that other guy was getting his ass pummeled by it.

How do you record matches? Geez, I should record the matches between my friends and I. We suck.

I just switched to DSL from Cable.

No more 500kb/s ranbats for me.

ok, thank you for the advice, thank you as well Acer1236.
what i want to know is what good came from it, that i can build on? I think a reason why the matches are slow is using these sticks havent become second nature just yet, you know when you use a controller how you dont really even think about where the buttons are or what you ahve to press, your just thinking about the match, its all instinctive? well, I dont think weve reached that stage yet with sticks, thats probably why you see it such slow. you may be asking then why not just use controllers? reason being I feel an arcade stick can bring out the max potential in a person, so thats what i want to become good at. and no, it wasnt Xbox live matches, he was sitting right next to me, we were using the 2 players X-arcade stick.

Well, rather than nit picking all the faults from your games - why don’t you put that side by side with a high level Ken VS Ryu match?

As for the holland matches, I was quite impressed because those two guys basically taught themselves and they have no sort of 3s scene with lots of players. Those two are probably the best there.

The Ryu player obviously needs some work on his combos and mixups more than his basic game, but overall that was quite impressive.

You shouldn’t be using that stick any ways. Especially if you were playing the Xbox version of the game. The converter causes lag in your inputs even during offline play. If you’re playing the PS2 version you should be ok as far as button inputs but the X-Arcade is still a crap stick. Way overpriced and the parts are cheap knockoffs of real arcade parts. You guys need to sell that shit and either get a custom 2 player stick (with more elbow room) or just get 2 seperate custom sticks.

are you serious? i didnt know that. yes were playing on the xbox. hmm, dam, so i wasted 120 bucks? dam, that sucks. well, i doubt there are any good 2 players arcade sticks out there, so we might have to each by a 1 player stick, what do you reccomend? I see in alot of high level play, they use those japanese sticks, the stick itself looks very easy for gripping and inputing rotations, well, my friend and I are truly serious about getting good in this game, thats for sure, so i guess a little more spending couldnt hurt even though were both in college. the sad thing is we are actually the best at our college, no one plays these games, heck, i cant even find a third strike machine within a 30-40 mile radius of my house. so the only competition we have, is ourselves, thats why i put up these vids, cause i know people will diss the shit out of me, and i am hoping they point out my faults, so its all cool. again, thank you all for your helpful info, i will definetly start practicing on how to punish, cause i myself saw times i could punish but was hesitant. so what would be the best sticks to get? you know of a online store or a name brand?

 @ the youtube comments posted for the vids.

Go to the ken or ryu character specific forum to learn more about their different combos/links/strats and other things. There’s usually a big thread for each character that outlines almost everything you need to know for him.

If you want a japanese stick and don’t want to look into modding, go for the hori arcade pro at liksang or playasia or wherever you can find it. Again, go into the “tech talk” section of srk, there’s a bunch of joystick threads there.

IMO, The Hori Real Arcade Pro 2 modded with OBSF-30s is great as a first stick. As far as learning to play, I think watching Ranbats are a great way to get a feel for the game.

how do you guys feel about the SFAC stick? is the HRAP head and shoulders above it?

The SFAC stick by itself is pretty bad unless you mod it with Happ parts.
http://www.arcadestickmonk.com/SFACmod.html

The HRAP is far superior to the SFAC stick, especially when modded with a Seimitsu LS-32 stick and Sanwa or Seimitsu buttons.

And if you’re on a budget, the Hori T5 stick is pretty decent when it’s stock. Plus you can mod it with Sanwa parts though it takes some soldering.

ok, thank you for the info, after doing some extensive searching, it seems any hori stick is hard to come by, but ive narrowed it down to 2 sticks, its between the

HRAP:

and the T5:

Im leaning towards the HRAP.

EDIT- well, change of plans, the hrap is 80 + 50 shipping from play asia, Im gonna go with the T5 off of ebay.

lmfao at the “battle of the fattys” remark.
Thanks for the translations forgenjuro  And it was good to see Kokujin get to the finals, even though Nuki won. (like he always does  )

I hope you weren’t the one that bought that T5 stick from ebay because it’s overpriced. Outpost has it for $50 before shipping.
