That is what I said. DHTs work like that in any distributed system and aren’t isolated to just bittorrent.
If there are no trackers he’s probably made an error. But yeah, you need an initial list from somewhere and then you can search for other hosts to connect to thanks to the DHT.
Using DHT (and perhaps with encryption) can show your traffic as being non-bittorrent traffic, some ISPs actually limit torrent traffic because their upload is getting raped for it. When using DHT you avoid the bittorrent stuff to some extend and get less limited traffic. This also means that RIAA/MPAA/ESA has to actually be connected to the tracker to sniff you out.

If you have aria2 you should be able to download them. I’m not sure if there’s a mac version of that though.
