The Official 3rd Strike Match Vids Thread

Good stuff, that Akuma is siiiiiick. :wow:

But someone has to explain the SAII thing against Dudley. When it happened in that video a couple weeks ago against Yang, I thought maybe it was a fluke, but every time he’s against Dudley in this set he picks SAII. I know it’s a different player (at least, I assume it is), but seriously… wtf?

Oh shit! Was that Denjin Ryu Frankie3s?

To administer that severe a beating, it would almost have to be.

the reason for the SAII is to try and pick Dudley off the ground with it after a throw. It never happend but I assume that was the reason.

Watching it now, and I was going to ask the same thing. Same colour and pretty much nobody in Japan uses denjin so it makes sense. Too bad there wasn’t more of him, especially when he’s on a roll like that.

Dammit the download stops for me at 71%, argh.

I’ll try to re-download it again some other time…

Definatly sick Gouki skills. Espcially the kara demons caught my attention. In the vids the player( who is btw the same Gouki who picked SA II against Yang in the Gvision qualifier, Jirou I think) does several times wakeup parry -> kara demon and once even walk up -> kara demon :looney: . I have never seen this done before and I’m pretty sure that you had to buffer or hide the two lp’s of the kara demon in some sort of move. Someone plz explain this.
Oh and I have to say that the vidios from Uriden.log are right now my favourites. The level of skill is allways extremely high and after watching vids like these I can somewhat understand why our teams got beasted so hard on at sbo.

wtf the download failed at over 90%…

The Uriden site has been updated with more goodness. This time from Deshi Ken and Fujiwara. Who owns that site… is it RX? It is really good.

link?

Try looking two posts upward

Holy shit dude, Deshiken is really really good, plays alot like Daigo.

Actually, I think right now he actually might be even better than Daigo since no longer plays.

ok, my bad. cool av btw

Deshiken red parry c.lp during c.lk, c.lp is insane.

I would expect another c.lk, yet he magically knew somehow they would c.lp and parried high instead. The red parry itself is impressive… but anticipating the next attack to be (unlikely?) high instead of low?

Deshiken is my favorite ken player by far. Really entertaining, and rushdown crazy.

Think about it like this. If the other Ken did short short, he wouldn’t be able to hit-confirm a connected second short and wouldn’t do the super. So red parrying the second hit high is relatively low risk (depending on who you’re playing) if you’re good at the actual parrying part of it.

Deshiken is probably my favourite Ken too. I don’t think he plays like Daigo at all. I used to like Hirai as well but I haven’t heard about him in a long time.

3 low shorts? i dunno lol I’m just impressed at how he magically knew they’d go high.

3 low shorts doesn’t work on Ken. I’m sure Deshiken knew that otherwise red parrying the 2nd hit would’ve just been a guess.

scroll down and search for a video link that gives you precautions for you people not to directlinking which is written in english …

that vid …green ken beasting like … satan .

edit : looks like people here have download it , and that vid is like a ken tutorial video .

edit 2: fujiwara picks which dudley ? i thought it was pink .

Yeah, Deshiken and Daigo definitely don’t play alike.

Deshiken has probably the most aggressive Ken I’ve ever seen.

Daigo’s seems a lot more well-rounded. He isn’t afraid to turtle it up or just walk around, but he just seems totally fearless or completely confident in his abilities to be able to predict just about anything (like him walking STRAIGHT at Vic in that set during EVO2K4 despite almost being tagged by random s.MPs and stuff).

And uh… Does anyone notice that Daigo will sometimes just SEEM to throw out the most random things ever for a few seconds and then switch back to ‘Daigo’ play? I dunno if you guys understand what I mean, but… Like in the EVO2K4 set against Mester, there’s one time where he just does walk up s.HK like 4 or 5 times… Another time against someone else, he tries walk up close s.HP like 3 or 4 times… And in that EVO2K3 (or was it 2K2?) match against Ricky Oritz’s Chun, he sweeps Ricky like… an absurd amount of times.

Immediately when they seem to catch on, he just cranks it into high gear and he’s back dashing all over the screen.

He truly plays like noone else. Truly a strange style.

Who knows , man. Dude’s level is just out in outer space somewhere.
