I’ve seen Daigo mess around with 'Gief in ST before, so it’s possible he was using other characters.
He always fucks around in foreign tournaments. He was using A-ISM in A3 in London a couple years ago.

the vids are HELLA old, it’s Daigo casuals from when he visited France, it was fall 2004 iirc
he was just messing around, and from what I remember from the reports from back them that in those vids it was the first time he was playing ps2 version (which had just come out), and also he was trying to adapt to home sticks.
when it was the time to get serious (the exhibition matches vs BK and Mymoza) he played much better.
Sounds like they were all having a crazy good time there. The matches against Uni’s team were the best.
