The 'mental health issues" he’s dealing with is that none of his teammates like his ass and the coaches put a high bar of expectation on him. It’s hurting his feelings. I don’t blame them either. Sam was getting paid as much as the big time vets as a rookie and he’s absolute garbage (yes I actually watched a couple Alouettes games). He has that Olé defense.
Michael Sam got so much press and hype for reasons outside of football, its no wonder that the bar got set high. Which is stupid because he isn’t that great. And in turn all it does is damage his own career. He could have gone about things differently I think. It’s good he came out but he also absolutely milked the press and his 10 seconds of fame for everything it was worth. And that was stupid.
