Now Kam Chancellor wants to hold out? He signed a new contract with a lot of money up front and more than $7 million guaranteed in 2013. This guy is a joke if he holds out because he saw his teammate, Russell Wilson, who got drafted later than him in the same draft get a huge pay increase. He should play out this season and negotiate for a better paying contract with the Seahawks when they free up more money from the Percy Harvin contract (Harvin goes $7 million against the Seahawks’ salary cap this coming season).

If you are, you’re an idiot, considering these are the same players who are going to have a staggering amount of medical bills once they retire, end up having multiple surgeries, and often aren’t right in the head after they get done playing.
There’s a reason all them 49ers retired this past offseason, and it’s because the money wasn’t worth the price they had to pay with their bodies anymore. It’s the same reason Barry Sanders retired early.
I begrudge no player getting all the money they can get when the average NFL career is less than 3 years and you’re absolutely lucky if you haven’t needed to have surgery in you’re playing time.
