Just peeped my head in here to see some Juri footage. I didn’t really want to look at her until I saw some decent players using her. I might pick her up, if for no other reason than her taunts. She looks like a fun character to use.
After reading the word “rape” I am gravely disappointed that the other character in that video wasn’t Cammy.

@EscapingJail: Don’t use any Pinwheel unless you know it’ll connect or on focus. It’s unsafe on block, tell your friend to learn a punish combo for it which will dissuade you from using it further. You dived way too much and it was obvious, a smart way to catch people with the dive is just to jump back or in your place and wait for anything to punish. Learn to use st.HP as a far to mid range anti-air, since cr.HP won’t reach that range or gets stuffed. Nice to see you have good use of cr.HP, and you’re using the overhead as a footsie tool. At 4:43 you did something interesting, cr.LK to cr.HK, and the cr.HK was a counter-hit. Possible frametrap.

@ EscapingJail : I agree with game. Way too many dive kicks, and you’re doing the followups seemingly without a second thought. I’m pretty sure you can do dive kick single hit -> EX pinwheel so if you think your dive kick is gonna hit, use that instead of the followups.
Also, this is pretty match specific but pressure Makoto more after a knockdown. Her best wakeup is EX karakusa, and Juri has a lot of moves that due to the fact they’re airborn, will make her karakusa whiff, break the armor, and you should get a free punish anytime she tries it. Once you start training that Makoto to not EX karakusa on wakeup due to Juri’s airborn normals, then she’s even more free to your oki game.
This is only coming from watching the first vid though, I don’t know what you’ve done in the next ones.

Airborne normals? like F+MK, st.HK, st.HP? Don’t see how you can pressure more after starting with those on wakeup.
Well I mean it kind of depends on how long the whiff animation is on Makoto’s karakusa and of course the reocvery of Juri’s moves. Let me give you an example of what I mean. With Rose against Abel I can do st.MK on his wakeup and if he does any tornado throw I’ll either hit him out of it, or he’ll phase through it with his invincibility but since I’m airborne I won’t get grabbed. So I get a free punish on his whiff animation. This will make Abel’s stop using Tornado Throws on their wakeup simply because it will never grab me.
I’m assuming something similar can happen with Makoto where you can use her airborn normals to “tame” your opponent into not doing EX karakusa on wakeup. besides EX karakusa, I don’t believe Makoto has any solid reversals, so once you take that threat away, you can pressure her on wakeup as much as you like. I also assume the recovery on Juri’s normals should be faster than the recovery of a whiffed command grab, so she might be able to just hit that airborn normal, then knock her down again with something else.

Good usage of feng shui engine maybe its better than it looks at first, its amazing for wakeup mindgames and any combo opportunities leads to very good damage and another knockdown.
@EscapingJail: if you want to hit your ex divekicks, you have to tick throw way much more than you do. Learn her kara throw, and tick throw A LOT. For example c.jab throw, c.jab c.jab kara throw… c.lk or s.lk throw… just tick throw the fuck out of him…
Once he learns that, he will start croucteching / teching / trying to reversal like a madman. Thats when you can start getting those ex divekicks in… do a tick throw setup, jump back and inmediatley ex dive kick… and watch his tech/l.kick get destroyed by your ex dive kick…
Another good setup is .clk s.lk walk up grab… after a few times they will start crouch teching, so you do one little step forward and jump back and buffer the motion, if you see their c.lk come out just press the buttons and have fun.
Remember, you cant combo into that move, so you have to set them up, get them doing reversals or trying to tech every time, and youll start hitting that move much more.
EDIT: Guys, any other set ups you can think of for hitting with that EX Dive kick??? Until now i have only thought of tick throwing like crazy until they start mashing tech, then jump and punish that shit with ex dive kick -> ultra. Anything else youve got?
You could try a fireball from afar on someone who likes to focus dash in then TK EX dive kick maybe? I can’t really think of anything.
