Never got to play the game but the anime was :fire::fire:. That ending was kinda not what I expected for a kids show, but that kinda made it stand out more too

Funny I never watched the Anime lol.

Suezo sounds like the 4th migo

I think Ocean dubbed the anime if I’m not mistaken

But if the lay out is aggressively linear, hand holdy and immediately b-lines you to the end with no risk or skill involved doing all that is fucking boring or not worth doing.

Why catch Pokémon when I can solo the entire game with just my starter? Cause that’s what I did on Shield. I literally never switched Pokémon or got KO’ed against any wild Pokémon, trainer or gym leader.

XP was so plentiful I had a level 100 starter by gym 6. The rest of my squad was around the 80’s. With no XP candies or rare candies btw. It’s fucking maddening to me XP share is just a built mechanic now that can’t be shut off. It takes me out of the game completely. There’s no point in actively training or learning about the other Pokémon and that sucks to me.

I play Pokémon for the world exploration, the lore, to see the new Pokémon, etc. but if the game doesn’t let me do that on my own terms or at least disguise the fact it’s so linear or hand holdy than what’s the point?

I played competitive Pokémon from gen 1 to gen 5. It was fun as hell to me. I enjoyed the grind of catching the right Pokémon with the right nature, abilities, iv’s, ev’s, egg moves if applicable. But they just kept making it simpler and simpler. To me that’s boring as fuck.

I don’t want to be able to make a lv.100 mon with best iv’s, ev’s, nature, ability and move set in a matter of seconds like I can in SW/SH cause it doesn’t feel earned. It’s just given to me. That’s dumb as hell to me. I hate instant gratification mechanics like that.

I don’t like the game constantly shouting I’m my face “GO HERE! DO THIS! BUT DO THIS FIRST!”. With the old games they were super linear too, I get that. But how they built the world, the lore, the routes, etc made the worlds feel much more expansive than they were. It felt like I had a freedom to do xyz when I wanted, how I wanted, when I wanted cause I could still back track and do whatever’s.

That slowly disappeared. And it sucks.

Not having national dex meant fuck all to me. I got the complaint but I also don’t play new Pokémon games to just play my team from the last. I find that incredibly fucking dumb. I want to know what the newest gen has to offer.

X/Y was such an amazing return to form and them Su/Mo and SW/SH obliterated all that.

Again, I don’t think Su/Mo, SW/SH and the let’s go are unplayable. Pokémon is a broadly appealing franchise of any age. Every gen or game or whatever will always be someone’s first experience to Pokémon. Which is great. It’s an amazing franchise. I just find that right now they’ve hit a really low point.

They keep dumbing it down to the point where long time fans just don’t find the game engaging anymore.

But I also get it doesn’t matter what I think cause everyone has their own opinion, everyone enjoys the games for their own reasons, SW/Shield became one of the top 5 selling switch games of all time within a month while the let’s go games are in the top 10 and it’s still the most popular/recognizable franchise on the planet.

Like I said, the great thing about Pokémon is if you don’t like where one part of it is at in the current there are many other parts you may love and want to support. I know I do. Gimme all the mystery dungeon titles and re-release or sequel to Pokémon Conquest plz.

Try Platinum again.

You get a ridiculous amount of strong stuff, but so does everyone else.

If I told you that you can get a Gible with EQ and Dragon Rage by the third Gym, evolve it and it still gets roflstomped in it despite it not even having a legit disadvantage because it’s a Ghost Gym, would you believe it?

SwSh doesn’t even get that.

Rose is like: “Leon, there will be a devastating energy crisis in 1000 years and we need to deal with that.”
Leon: “Ok, sure, no problem. It just can’t be tomorrow because the champion cup finals are already scheduled, but don’t worry about it, I got your back.”

Rose:

Shit makes no sense and it’s abysmal even by Pokémon standards. He makes Cyrus look sane.

What pisses people off with Pokémon as a franchise is that besides the wild gimmicks, every step forward has 2 steps back.

Take the Wild Area for example.

It’s arguably one of the best parts of SwSh and I legit like it. But that shit is about as complex as OoT’s Hyrule Field.

And looks like it because of lol textures and lol trees.

B R U H

There is no depth to it, no reasons besides mons to actually backtrack and revisit parts of it for items because there are no natural obstacles anymore, so you can get them all from the jump.

The DLC does make this a lot better with more intricate maps and caves, but not the base game. This does however, make me a bit more hopeful for the future.

It’s a franchise forever stuck in eternal potential because it keeps restricting people’s choices, which is ironic because the gameplay is about exploring and trying new things when team building.

haha my favorite pokemon game will always be…Pokken Tournament  really…it’s real-time action, more of a fighting game type of thing, and it lets me be Mewtwo and destroy those inferior monsters with cool moves. There was also a nightmare-themed pokemon that was fun to play… the frog one was good too.

It would be nice to get back to Astral Chain and all these other games but I’m all in on Hades at this point. Between this addiction and my usual Diablo 3, it’s not looking good for the other games getting much attention from me anytime soon, sadly.

Pokken’s Duel phase has no business being this fun when you inevitably have to revert to that wackass Field Phase.

They gave my boy Scizor some Vergil shit but whenever the game goes to Field Phase it’s as trash as SFV’s netcode!!! :sob:

Why? This doesn’t really sound any different from any other reveal.

I really hope it is bonk, crash bandicoot, or really earthworm jim

How is earthworm jim not in this?

Because it’s earthworm Jim.
Also wtf at Bonk.

Plz leave.

Go bake me some cookies

For all we know the new fighter is cooking mama

sheeeitttt, I never thought of Earthworm Jim in a Smash Bros. game, actually…which is surprising since I like that character; but hell yeah I’d get that day 1.

heh, and now some lesser-knowns that don’t really have a chance…
Rocky Rodent, Pocky & Rocky, Goemon aka “Kid Ying” and Dr. Yang, Bubsy the Bobcat, and Aero the Acrobat.
…Captain Commando and Ginzu the Ninja, Polterguy from Haunting, Bentley Bear from Crystal Castles…haha I’m taking it wayyy back with that one; no one remembers Bentley Bear without hitting up a google or bing search.

edit—ohhhh but what about Strider… and Dr. Robotnik  …and a “Doc Robot” from Mega Man 3 would be cool…
