What’s the gameplay like for MH Stories?
It’s like turn based Pokémon but the attack wheel is similar to fire emblem. Which is just Rock Paper Scissors

To be fair, Ori looks pretty cool, but I haven’t played the first one yet and I know 2 is a late port.
MonHun is just a boring pointless grind to me, so I just can’t bother with that franchise.
Did we even get any heavy hitters besides those 2?

Tbh I’ve tried to get into monster Hunter a few times and it just isn’t for me, so you’re not alone. And this is from someone who enjoys the Chalice dungeons in Bloodborne.

Ori 2 just came out this year so it isn’t even that late.
Aside from MonHun and Ori, we got info on Rune Factory 5 and Hades dropping.

The new action platformer from Square looks fun as hell too. It was an awesome Partner showcase.

I’m just able to look at things from an objective stand point. There was a lot to dig in this direct and even if you don’t like MH, that franchise has become a powerhouse over years. The fact that the Switch is getting a brand new unported exclusive of a game in that franchise is BIG. To be honest when I heard rumors about it I didn’t think it was gonna pan out of the success of World but I’m happy that isn’t the case. Then you got Ori, Disgeas 6 ( which is somehow apparently exclusive? You do realize this franchise made its money on Sony consoles right?) Hades which people are interested in. I haven’t even watched it yet and just on that alone thats pretty solid.

Nah, it’s not like I’m saying the games that were announced in the Direct were trash.
I just didn’t see anything that piqued my interest in it.
I’m not saying Ori is trash or MonHun is trash or any other games are, objectively speaking.
I’m subjectively disappointed because none of the games shown interested me. 
So you don’t like the grind of Monhun…I get that. Have you played it with a group you know or some friends?

I never got into Monster Hunter until Worlds a couple years ago or whenever. I made my character a slut named Heather and used the insect glaive to fly around and stab the fuck out of shit. It was awesome! Especially when you get in a group with friends. I ended up putting it down when the next Destiny expansion came out though. But I dig the concept of Monster Hunter games. It’s like a game of nothing but big ass boss fights, with RPG and crafting elements. Good shit.

First and second Ori games are 2 of the best games this gen. I played both on X1X though so graphically I’m sure it’s somewhat superior than the Switch one.
I highly recommend both of them.
Don’t play the second one before the first one either.

I am with you. I skimmed the whole thing in about 20 seconds and saw nothing that I had any interest in. It doesn’t mean I think all those games are bad.

I’m a casual fan of Monster Hunter World at least— I think the one problem of the game is it can be a bit off-putting in the early-game. There’s only maybe 1 monster that can easily be killed by newly-made characters (*until recently; they put up some gear that helps boost the hell out of fresh characters…so this is no longer the case, really)…that T-rex looking thing will destroy the hell out of you 1000 times if you’re new to the game, since naturally as a fresh character, your damage output is terrible compared to what these creatures can do.
Also, I’d bet a lot of people aren’t a fan of the situation where the monster suddenly runs or flies away, dragging out the fight. Sure it’s a “hunt” and that’s kinda the point here (and realistic–of course any creature is going to run off when threatened) but imo that shit is usually just rather annoying.
anyway, good thing we don’t have to resort to that butt-ugly ass 3ds game then. I almost gave in to the temptation there, just to have portable Monster Hunter action.

I took the Anjanath out solo with a fresh build when I played world. He’s really not that tough he just hits hard is all.
Anyway I just reinstalled MHW and Iceborn and I’m lookin to squad so anyone wanting to hunt…

If I can get a copy tomorrow when I go into work I’ll be saving myself over $15. If I can’t then I’ll keep the Amazon copy.
I just wanted to make 100% sure I would get a copy. So whatever the outcome I have a copy and that’s all I care about.
I’m pretty confident in my chances of getting a copy from work though.
