The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

Pffft, good luck finding even 2 other people you know IRL with a damn Switch, let alone with a copy of Splatoon 2.

if it takes off like the 3DS did then any college campus or shopping mall in the West will probably have enough. Also they could do a DS download play style thing with Splatoon 2’s local multi, lock the download play characters to a generic inkling with starting armor and just the Splattershot Jr or some shit, like how mario kart DS locked download play-players to Shy Guy.

I wouldn’t underestimate Splatoon. It may not have large numbers when it first gets released due to supply of the system and what not but if it sells as well as the first or possibly better then finding 2 or more people may not be that difficult by next year.

Splatoon 2 will be a system seller, imo. I don’t think people expected splatoon to be as good as it was. So a lot of people are looking forward to splatoon 2

Pokémon Is pretty much an MMO without global chat at this point and That’s a good thing IMO cause global chat in mmo’s is pure AIDS

Do you people really want an MMO from a company with a track record of poor online infrastructure, poor communication features, and a willingness to cut useful tools altogether because a six year old might hear or see something “inappropriate?”

iunno Xenoblade X was pretty good just get monolith soft to make the pokemon MMO

I think with this news of a 4k version coming before the current version is even out I think I might actually just hold off if they are working on it already that means were talking probabaly one year to the day of release when it drops (spring 18) With preorders being sold out it might not be till late summer / fall before I even get one by then i’m looking at about a half year before the new one drops as much as i’d rather not wait I think I’m going to have to backtrack on this one.

I’m finding the idea of Nintendo working on an ‘updated’ version of the Switch this early really far fetched (if at all really). Nintendo isn’t really known to real ‘updates’ in their home console hardware. I find the idea of an attachment or something like the expansion bay for the N64 more believable. They don’t even have an idea of how well the system is going to sell in the long run yet and now you’re going to tell me that they’re going to just go ahead and spend more money into making a more powerful version of the system before it even gets released? That doesn’t sound like Nintendo’s MO.

This also Isn’t the same Nintendo Iwata is dead and the leadership has been shaken up. I mean cmon did you ever think the day would come when your playing fire emblem on your phone? Did you ever think the day would come when your Zelda comes with a season pass? How about advertisements with no children? They are modernizing and working on the sequel while the current thing is still going gold is a very 2018 thing to do. They barely missed the deadline on the 4k capable Tegra that’s in the current Shield tv and needed to kill the Wii brand asap. Given all the Intel out there, and the circumstances it just makes sense, at any rate I’ll have to wait on a Switch regardless so we’ll see.

If it’s true then It’s a waste until we have achieved 1080p and 60 fps without any lag/slowdown/dropped frames for every game. (that and I don’t have a 4K TV yet)

Nintendo has a terrible track record updating its consoles and all of those plans turn into vaporware:
[] SNES was going to have a CD ROM expansion. Never went anywhere.
[
] N64 was going to have a disk drive: it either turned into vaporware, or it became a Japan only thing. Don’t remember well.

Gamecube: again had a pair of bottom ports for expansions. All it got was an adapter to play Game Boy games.
I doubt they have the capability to deliver a system with both 4k / 60 fps when not even Sony or Microsoft can bring it consistently. It also looks like a foolish attempt to compete with them in their own turf when even they have realized it is a dead end. Maybe they want to throw a bone to the specs whores but jeopardizing and screwing over the people that preordered or were planning to buy a Switch early sounds outrageous. They couldn’t be that st… wait, I withdraw my comment.

Thing is their track record is that they they don’t do updates to their home consoles really hardware wise. If they did this would be the first time they successfully did that and despite some people’s feelings towards Nintendo I highly doubt they’d release the upgrade IF it were to happen in the same year let alone the next year.

The 60 fps dream is definitely a dream and kind of a strange one.

I don’t see why y’all are so skeptical about this, though. No reason we couldn’t see a Switch Lite or a Switch Pro.
