So Colossus is still busted as fuck in MUA3!!
Also impressed at how they nailed Gambit in this!!
So I’m doing this one last time because I am a masochist and also because I love you guys. Nintendo just launched its last wave of eshop sales. It includes top indie titles.
I am going to list every game I feel worth mentioning in the list below. Bonus is since I’m on my MacBook Air I’m going to list before and after prices (thats where the masochist part comes in). All of these sales end on the 2nd of January unless otherwise stated.
Happy Holidays and Merry Switchmas!

Finally got to unbox my Switch, then I started beating that ass at Mario Kart
I need Nintendo to stop trying to come for my wallet.
@sonichuman For whatever my employee discount works on digital eshop cards. So after a gift card my parents gave me for Christmas I got $140 in eshop credit for $26 out of pocket. So I’m picking up a shit ton of stuff lol
Edit: with my $140 I got Monster Boy, Wonder Boy, Wonder Boy Remix, Oninaki, Chocobo Dungeon, VA-11 HALL-A, Joe and Mac, Joe and Mac Returns, Yooka-Laylee and Battle Chasers.
I have about $8 in coins too. I’m picking up some more games when I get paid next Tuesday as well.
My pleasure homie. If I’m going to give a shit ton of money to Nintendo I feel everyone else should join in on the fun too.
I def appreciate you doing this every time especially during the last month. I have certainly bought stuff after looking at your lists
MK8 is fun as shit
Yea thibk I’m gonna spring for Yooka Laylee. That’s a price i can live with.
hell yeah… I enjoy the fact that mii characters are implemented in Mario Kart… yep; I was racing with my nasty roster of characters like “Duuki Mane”, “Booger” and “Turdbird”.
Darksiders II, man… every time I see that game… it only reminds me of the deep level of disappointment there. I desperately wanted to like that game/franchise. It’s the main man Joe Mad, one of my favorite comic artists of all time…and naturally I love the character and creature designs of it all…the world/lore, etc… but the unbelievable tedium in those games aggravate the hell out of me…and the game-breaking glitch that hit me in part 2 was the final nail in the coffin. They fixed it but that didn’t mean much for those like me who already encountered it…there was no choice but to start all over…and with the way those games are…hell nah, man. Looking back on it now…I’d say that yeah this is one of the most disappointing game/franchises of all time for me, considering the expectations I had.
I’m dying here
What, for you guys, was the most disappointing game/sequel you were hyped up for?
Edit: oops, probably should have posted this in VGG.
sheeeitttt, besides Darksiders I already mentioned… the other one for me that comes to mind was Anthem. I was absolutely hooked from that e3 footage they showed…which we now know turned out to be a pile of lies. Ha, I was thinking at the time that surely this would be a “Destiny killer” It looked SO much more of what I wanted… 3rd person, which is always more enjoyable than 1st person for me… and battle/mech-suits like Ironman…and you could fly around in alien worlds. This SHOULD’VE been GOLD.
…of course, the disappointment started off right away when they revealed that it would be a damn online-only “live service” thing…aka trash. Then the game actually came out…and it was all downhill from there.
Santa brought me Travis Strikes Again. Just in time too, since I finished the first NMH this morning. Wondered why it kept being brought it up the last couple weeks whenever we talked about games?
Wanted to play 2 before this but since it was a gift I thought I’d start it up. Liking it so far.
Grabbed Cuphead and can now play it on a stable platform. Wanted to wait for physical but said fuck it, since its on sale.
Travis Strikes Again isn’t bad…it isn’t great either based off what I’ve played. Ill make it a point to clearbit out of my backlog before NMH3 comes out.
I got Bayonetta 2 and am beyond excited to dig into this game!
Seems I need a new MicroSD Card.
It’s a 256gb btw. I should probably take this as a sign as I have too many games. But I’m not going to. Also, I know I could just delete games but I refuse to compromise. lol
I’m the owner of the switch. The switch doesn’t own me!
The kids love their Switchmas games! Nephew got Link’s Awakening, oldest niece got A Hat in Time and the middle one got Pokemon Shield.
The oldest one really likes A Hat in Time. Like, she played the sucker for 3 plus hours straight while we all watched and played, Jenga, Connect 4 and Guess Who. Normally the nephew is always on the Switch but the girls were all over that sucker like flies on stink. The younger niece hasn’t seen any spoilers for Sword/Shield but she already thinks Hop sucks and she’s only about 4 hours into the game.
A Robot Named Fight has a dope soundtrack and clear Super Metroid inspirations. From the level design to the movement of your character, you can tell the developers were huge fans of the game.
I’m still waiting on more feedback before I bite on the Switch port of A Hat in Time. Every version that Gears for Breakfast has had published has had a crapton of bugs at release, but they’re on the motherfuckers right away and they steady murk them fucking bugs
My final games were purchased about 5 minutes after I opened the system this morning. Ended up buying Link’s Awakening, Pokemon Sword, and in a surprise twist; I picked up Smash Ult over Mario Maker 2 and Fire Emblem Three Houses. On my way back to my daughter-in-laws for the evening (I’m at home now); I stopped into our rental haunt and rented MUA3 and Mario Maker 2. Of course, that’ll be the last time I ever pay to rent Switch games from them. IIRC, I’ve already gone through a fourth of my 400gb microSD card with games and patch data.
The fear I used to have for Steam taking all of my money at major holidays is now Nintendo’s fear of doing the same exact thing.
Also whooped the rest of my family and my in-laws at Mario Kart. Was steady beating that ass all day long
I’m on the second level and I’m digging what I’m playing. I remember early previews from this game were RRRROOOOOOUUUUGGGHHH. I wasn’t a fan of all the ‘guest appearance’ announcements either. I saw more in action later on, saw the potential and it’s playing like I thought it would.
I’m trying to maximize damage so mixing attacks and using a lot of heavy attack is a lot of fun. Mixing those with power moves and enemies being able to hit hard is nice. I’ve only played the first boss Electric Triple Star and it had a nice challenge to it.
Had I played at least NMH 1 before this game was announced, I would’ve totally bought that it was NHM3, like it was initially thought. The presentation is a off that charts so far!
I was going to buy this physical (before Christmas), but I don’t mind having this one digital, even though it would’ve saved me space. I could see me starting this up for quickplays on a lazy afternoon, especially if it allows me to go back and use later moves and skills.
Found the MicroSD I’m getting.
I plan on getting it next Thursday.
