Never used game sharing until I got my girlfriend a lite. So I wouldn’t know. Lol
I was also tempted by the Lite… I finally saw one in person at a store recently; they had a yellow one on display. Mannnn if only Nintendo could resolve that damn analog drifting problem in at least most of them… if it weren’t for that issue I probably would’ve had a Lite from day 1. I wouldn’t try the account sharing though; I’d just have another account for Switch # 2.
heh, sheeeitttt, this is the best thing about being in that “working adult” phase of life… it’s like being a big kid…except you have a regular stream of money for all the fun things you want to get…and you decide when you want to buy this fun stuff.
Even though I imagine il probably use mine mostly as a handheld, I like the option of being able to play it on a TV. Seems like one of the big selling points of the thing in the first place.
Splat 2 will be getting some quality of life updates and gameplay balances next year.

I was all about the mobile capability of it until they mentioned the battery life of it. It’s “improved” with the new model but it’s still only a semi-decent battery. Plus it being wholly dependent on how demanding the game is on the system is a huge negative for me too.
I’ve had a switch since launch and I can count on one hand how many times I’ve used it in portable mode. It’s only left my house once and that we when I was in the hospital earlier this year. I asked my parents to bring it to my hospital room for me.
I have no inclination to take it on a road trip, or when I’m out running errands, or playing it on my breaks/lunch at work. Those just all seem like inconveniences and accidents waiting to happen to me.
I get the portability being a huge selling point for people. @Million-X constantly posts about him playing whatever game at work on his breaks. And that’s great. It’s doing what it’s intended to do.
I just don’t personally see the portability as a viable way of playing.
Not viable as the soul way of playing but as a tandem portable/console its more the adiquate.
Yeah. I don’t disagree with that. Just for me personality I have no need to play it portable due to battery life, the inherent risks of carrying around a $300 machine I’ve sunk literally 1000’s of dollars into and how close the buttons are together fucks with my nerve damage hand a lot too. That latter isn’t the main reason either. But it is a big reason. I have to take my hand into effect whenever I do anything that’s heavily hand dexterity based.
It’s why I had to “retire” from playing fighters. I couldn’t “feel” where the buttons were any more and my hand/lower arm would start hurting almost immediately. With a traditional controller I can play in 2-3 hour bursts before it gets really bad.
All that said, the danger of breaking my console or having it stolen along with the sub-par battery are much bigger worries to me.
But I know a lot of the games you play like SHMUPs they actually have in-game options to play them with the switch portable and long-ways like a traditional tablet or SHMUP cab to get that “real” effect. Which is fucking great.
sheeeittt, in a perfect world, I’d like the competition to jump in on it too…I would love a MS and a Sony “hybrid console” as alternative options… we all win when there is more choice out there.
…but yeah, there’s been times when I brought my pro controller to work too…and played table-top mode on lunch hour…sometimes I wasn’t even eating; just playing games the whole hour.
I didn’t know there was a physical version of the Namco Classics collection; fortunately I didn’t get the digital yet then… I’ll just get the cart. Galaga '88 and Rolling Thunder are the main attractions for me on that…a shame they just have regular Pac-man on there…other versions were way more interesting; it’s really an unfair comparison since those games came later.
Yea it’s pretty dope. Next month I’m gonna try and pick up this Switch Stand. It slides into the Joycon grip on the Switch and let’s you stand the Switch horizontally or Vertically. Fucking brilliant. Will also save me from using that joke of a kick stand Nintendo put on the Switch.
I just like that I can take it with me on a trip and be able to play the same games i can play when it’s docked on my TV. Part of the reason I got it was because I don’t have much time to sit I front in the tv and play my PS4 these days so this gives me the best of both. The box says battery life is like 6 or so hours, but even if it’s less, I don’t usually play that long in one sitting.
Nintendo will finally have access and hopefully utilize 64GB Game Cards mid-next year.

They were originally supposed to start circulation in late 2018 but were delayed due to several technical difficulties and other unforeseen circumstances from the tech firm they contracted to make the cards.
My switch is 95% mobile…I take it to work on my slower days and I can’t see myself sitting on a couch anymore playing games. Mainly this is because my PC and other consoles share my 2nd monitor. Why then do I bother with the dock plugged into my actual TV? well that’s for my GF. she plays a lot on TV so her playing splatoon on the bigger screen works for her and just being able to sit where i like and play with her on my mobile screen is a huge plus.
The Christmas shopping is done. I paid rent, had some good cash left over so I treated myself.
Took advantage of the eShop sales and picked up a handful of games I may not have picked up at the usual prices.
I got BroForce Bastion and Fast RMX
I haven’t played BroForce in a while; that’s a good one… it was one of the reasons I wanted a PS4…because for a long time that was the only console that had it… and I’ve never been a fan of playing anything on PC; I’ll always avoid it if I have a console option. So yeah… even back when people were enjoying all kinds of mods only on PC-version Skyrim at first… I still bought and preferred to play it “regular” on the 360. (it would not be until the “Special Edition” later on xb1/ps4 that you could experience mods on console versions)
…heh, sheeeitttt, and as always just mentioning that game brings back some memories… quite a shame that I was the only Skyrim fan that thought the random vampire attacks in towns was an awesome and potentially funny situation. Most fans were always pissed because this could result in various named characters (specifically the vendors) being killed…and normally that is a permanent thing. Say there’s a “trainer” type of npc you could gain a skill from or whatever…random vampire attack got him…hahah like real life that dude’s just gone now…he’s not coming back.
All the patch notes from the 1/6/20 Splat 2 update I mentioned a few posts up
https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27028/~/how-to-update-splatoon-2
Nintendo also plans on releasing another patch at an undesignated date in April.
That’s why I like the one mod that makes most of the towns folk run away and hide rather than trying to beef with the Vampires, there a similar mod for dragons
Y’know I should be playing the new Mahvel UA3 update…
…but I want to go Lynel hunting on BOTW!!!
Lynels are fun. Go find the Colliseum =D
