If they have played and enjoyed a Pokemon game before they will be fine. If not answer these three questions?
How good is their reading? Also do they have obessive compulsive leanings? And lastly Are they prepared to probably be crushed when taking their team of favorites online?
They haven’t played the other ones before. Long story short, mommy was a heroine addict and pawned all their stuff so they never really had anything of their own for long, DCS got involved and my 75 year old mother took custody of them to keep them from going into the foster system. I had them at church this morning for their Christmas service and the little girl won a Switch Lite from a drawing. She got a copy of Mario Party but that can’t be played on a Lite but they can just play that with me on mine. Since I last posted I realized Pokémon would probably be too much. The 8 year old is a girly girl and only likes videogames because me and the boy do. Her winning the Lite worked out better since today me and some of the family decided to get the boy the full feature switch for Christmas and make it from “Santa”. He appears to fall slightly on the autistic spectrum but I think it may be damage caused either from his asshole biological father beating on him and throwing him down stairs or his mother being on drugs while preggo with him, so his reading and math are a bit behind but I’m tutoring him. They will share games most likely but I got the girl a copy of Spyro Reignited and they boy a Fortnite code card for costumes and I’ll help him set up an account, he just meanders around the map then gets shot but loves it anyway. I’m also giving him Splatoon 2 which I had laying around still sealed from when I got it back last year. I’m going to mosey over to wally world and see if they got any of the lego games. If you got any recommendations I’m all ears.
One game my six year old nephew loves is Super Mario Maker 2. If either of the kids like to build or create, not much to read but filled with stuff they can customize or just play around in other people’s levels.
Also Super Mario Odyssey is another good one for kids if you can get them to New Donk City.
There have been dozens of games similar to Pokémon (and honestly usually better than Pokémon) come out on Nintendo platforms. So. It’s not exactly interesting, imo.
Same can be said about the countless obvious Zelda rip offs.
Mario Odyssey sounds super safe fun for both of them. Mario Kart too and all of you can play (the girl can join on her switch lite while you two play on TV/dock). For her maybe Yoshi or Overcooked 2. Splatoon 2 is also a great choice for both
Years ago peeps would say you’re insane. And yet here we are.
“Dude some day they’ll make a game where YOU can make your own crazy Mario stages. You can even post them online! This will be by Nintendo officially!”
One of my favorite things to do in Warcraft 3 was play some of the community made mods and scenarios. It’s a really easy and smart way to extend the life of a game to offer up something that lets the players create their own content. SMM sounds like a lot of fun, if I end up getting a switch, it’ll probably be among the first games I get.
so I got a more serious 256 GB card…and with how often I get games I probably should’ve got a 512, actually… but it’s good to finally have some space to work with. My other card was a 64gb and was down to 1.9! Lesson learned— go BIG on your card or whatever kind of storage space right away for any system. (on xb1 I have a 2TB external, and even that is down to “just” 100 or so gigs at the moment)
