They’re there. Just not in ways people want. It’s not different than certain shooters in a series not feeling the same or the mechanics of a fighting game. The core is still there. Just not in a way everyone is going to like.
Games can have the core mechanics in tact but if systems adjustments or mechanics or added or removed people may not be as receptive.
People are allowed to have opinions and be critical of things. It’s kinda silly that people are thinking others suddenly can’t.
I 100% agree that people have been taking it way too far with how much hate and vitriol people have had for the game. I had that at one point though imo I wasn’t super vocal about it. Now I’m just simply “what they’re doing I don’t like. Maybe next gen”
This is Gamefreak doing their first major HD title. Given the history of Pokemon game this will be essentially where they start stuff but the next game or generation is where they open the play book and go nuts.
The National Dex stuff is unfortunate but necessary because we got damn near 1000 unique Pokemon not including different forms and gender difference. The choices for the cuts based off what has come out are not great but it is what it is. I look forward to what they do with next game.
Let’s Go Eevee/Pikachu is a fucking awesome intro to the Pokémon franchise. It’s just not a good Pokémon game if that makes sense? It’s just a fleshed out Pokemon Go. Which there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s just not what a lot of players are looking for when it comes to Pokémon.
It’s a very easy and casual experience that introduces you to Pokémon and how vast it can be. Which is great. I know a lot of my friends who have teacups humans introduced them to Pokémon through LGEP. It just ultimately did nothing for a lot of Pkmn players. Still sold well. So that’s awesome.
I didn’t like how the catch and experience mechanics worked. Because it was too similar to Go. A game which I don’t find very fun or interesting. So I never bothered picking it up.
Tbh it all kinda started way back in gen 1. Though Yellow was more a video game adaptation of the Kanto arc of the anime. So I don’t truly count it.
But Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, B/W2 were all “definitive editions” of their respective generation. While US/UM did add a shit ton more to the story and the aloha mythos it didn’t make it not feel like $40 DLC. Lol. I remember so many of my friends being pissed about the Ultras.
The only time I ever felt it was truly justified was B/W2. Mainly cause Gen 5’s Story was fucking awesome and it fleshed out N’s backstory even more. Which is something everyone wanted after playing base BW.
So apparently there a patch just came out today for FFVIII Remaster. I just downloaded it but I can’t find the patch notes on it. Can anyone help me out?
Also smash 6.1 came out today as well. It was a hot fix that fixed terry freezing the game or something like that.
Honestly at this point both companies probably have had folk already bounced between them so of the thousand of potential Pokemon looking like hundreds of Digimon and vice versa is to be expected.
Edit: Also Sobble’s evolutions have straight up ruined the character for me. Just terrible.
