The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

The preorder deal actually starts Sunday and runs for a week. I should have specified. I posted that when I just woke up.

So, I had ordered a Switchgrip Pro from Satisfye about 2ish months ago, and tracking says it was delivered. But the HOA didn’t give me a key to one of the parcel lockers on site, and they’re pointing fault at USPS.

Cue the San Andreas image of aw shit, here we go again.

This the weirdest Switch controller I’ve seen thus far.

The slime controller has been around since PS2 era. They’ve only released one of them state side once though during the PS2 era. They’ve also made them for PS3, PS4 and now Switch. Iirc they even made one for the Wii. I don’t remember.

They also have variants of it like metal slime and king slime.

They’ve also made Hori game pads with DQ designs but not a full blown slime mold.

Yea been seeing those for years.

They look awful to play with.

As someone who owns all of them but the Switch version (don’t have the cash right now) they are. Lol.

They’re the definition of a novelty peripheral.

Only novelty controller I’ve ever wanted was that hilarious blood stained Residen Evil 4 Chainsaw Controller.

I have the Tiny Bee Guns PS2 controller that came out for FFX-2 In japan. That’s my claim to shame. They’re packed up in a box somewhere.

And no. We will not discuss how much Stuart paid for them.

Always wanted something like those but for Devil May Cry.

I’m still holding out hope for a way to import the Dragon Quest joycons without having to spend $600 and potentially getting murked by my wife.

Check Ami-Ami and Nin-Nin Gaming. They sell a lot of the special edition peripherals that came with limited edition bundles separately

I’m sure it’s old news to some but Grid Autosport for Switch supports the analog triggers of Gamecube controllers. I actually forgot that still had my Wavebird and my wired GC controller. Found them just now. I think I may snag Grid.

How? The official USB adapter does not relay the analog from the triggers.

Here is the video that made me aware of this. Just tried it out it works. Wavebird still works and I even have my wired pad as a back up.

Edit: Make sure whatever Gamecube controller you use has analog triggers. Some of the 3rd party controllers have digital triggers. Also there are third party pro controllers with analog shoulders but as of now, only Gamecube controllers have analog support.

looking through the Target ad this morning after @Stuart_Hayden posted that deal a couple days ago (and I have a sizeable amount on a gift card) … already sad that I can’t get the 25% off on either DQ11 or Astral Chain.

Edit: Also of note, the missus pulled off some dark af wizardry yesterday and tried out a pro controller. Almost immediately her hand started to cramp from holding it. Looks like I’ll be getting a second 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ controller for her before the holidays.

Yeah. It’s only on select in-stock games and preorders.

sad trombone noises

How does a pro make your hand cramp but a Smaller SN30 doesnt?

it’s because of the layout of the controller. I think I’ve explained before, but my wife has her left arm amputated at the elbow because of her accident about three years before we started dating, and I don’t mind attempting to help her overcome these things. She can hold a DualShock 4 just fine, but anything that has the XBox layout (or something similar, like the pro controller in this instance) makes it uncomfortable for her to hold for any period of time.

She did ask for me to pick up a 8BitDo wireless adapter before the holidays, so she can use the aforementioned.
