went into Gamestop near the house and preordered Link’s Awakening and Pokemon Sword. The person behind the counter was really chill, because I told him I didn’t want the physical editions of either game; straight digital. We ended up deciding on the wife’s games being physical, and me taking digital-only copies (save for River City Girls and maybe Langrisser).
Started Astral Chain. One attack button and it being mapped to a trigger threw me off. Didn’t expect that. I expect that all the techiques you can use with the astral chain can make up for that. Using it to bind enemies and halt charging ones is pretty fun.

The combat, the stylish art style, the music just about everything in this game is so perfect.
Im 2 hours in and I rly like the story.
Can’t remember the last time Ive had so much fun with a game this gen.
The way this game starts with a motorcycle scene reminds me so much of the FF7 bike scene with Cloud.
This game came out of nowhere without any hype and surprises everyone at how good it is like WOW!

So a friend of mine is at PAX West right now. Nintendo is doing an event of sorts where they post a clue on Twitter about where their street team is in Seattle and they give out pins to anyone that finds them.
Said pins are the instruments you collect from each dungeon in Links Awakening. Each location is giving out a certain number of pins. He got me 3/8. He’s going to try to get me the other 5 tomorrow.
If he can’t I’m going to wait for the weekend to be over so I can hunt down the other 5 and pay exorbitant prices for them. Cause like…I fucking need these. Links Awakening is hands down my favorite Zelda title of all time and one of my favorite games of all time.

Finally starting to get the feel for Astral Chains combat. Attack on ZR and dodge on B was fuckin with me for the longest.
I’m still trying to figure out enemy tells. The huge gorilla chimera gives me the most trouble. Dodging the ground pound feels impossible

Boss on the third file whopped my ass fierce. Remembered I had a gun and played distance after I continued.
Combat reminds me of a streamlined W101 (only have Sword Legion right now), but still able to be its own thing with its own learning curve.
If you haven’t picked it up yet: Target has the smash character pass for $5 off.

In Astral Chain I beat the Cerberus boss by using the chain counter to throw it off the map. I love this game so much.

That fight took me all the way back to DMC3. I just played distance on the thing.
Just obtained the third Legion.
Wife is saying I can pick out a game when we make our Target run later. Will post pics later of said game.
