I’ve only played mine handheld a handful of times. Once when my power was out and all my other tech was dead. And while I was in the hospital. Whenever I got bored of Netflix or Crunchyroll binging I’d play the switch for an hour or so.
I on the other hand use mine in hand held mode more then tv mode.
The flexibility of this thing is fucking amazing.
I switch between the two modes frequently. I have it with me whenever I travel.
Yeah I take mine on trips, and that’s about the only time it comes undocked.
Docked and handheld. Slightly more handheld since I like being in bed.
Same here for the most part. Although I’m probably going to start undocking my Switch to have the AI grind unlocks for me in MK11. I was salty that I didn’t have the Jacqui costumes I unlocked on PS4 on my Switch when I was out of town for Mother’s Day.
I just don’t go enough places or be in situations enough to where I need to play handheld. That and whenever I do play handheld it isn’t really the most comfortable to me. Especially after handling the pro controller so much.
Whenever I get my car serviced, I bring my Switch. I go on Saturdays so I don’t have to take time away from work. Since I have unlimited data and a mobile hotspot I am even able to unlock stuff in Mk11 despite the stupid always online nonsense.
Same. This is how I watched Netflix, WWE Network and Crunchyroll on my iPad while I was in the hospital cause their WiFi was hot garbage.
Yeah I have to go out of town for work. Hotel internet is terrible. I’ll be using my hot spot next Tuesday.
Like…I would bring my switch with me to work so I could play it on breaks or my lunch (we get an hour lunch which is nice) but It’s not really pocket size, I don’t want to carry around my messenger bag and I absolutely don’t trust any employee there so I don’t want to risk it getting stolen if I put it in my work locker.
I don’t really go anywhere else except out to lunch and the movies every once and a while. Oh, and the grocery store. None of which are really situations to use the switch handheld.
Even on road trips like going out of state for a concert, or going out of state for a doctors appointment or whatever. I’d rather just bring my iPad and watch videos than bring my switch.
So. I just play it docked.
I use the subway often and I play my Switch during the ride. Rides go a lot faster when you got something to do during the commute.
I bring mine to work but rarely play it there since I’ll usually take a nap if anything. When I don’t bring it with me, that’s when I’m like “Man, I’d sure love to play something right about now…” haha.
Fuck yeah! I do the same thing, lol.
Doing that right now. Gonna ‘surf’ for a bit before gaming. Looks like a long line today …
I do the same. When ever i travel it’s with me and yep SMM 2 is bought for some family time that’s for sure.
I pretty much buy a new game every time I fly so that I have something new to play on my flights. I’ve been flying like 5x a year the past few years so it’s been great. Other than that, I’m mainly playing in docked mode on my 120" screen.
But it’s great on flights. Time flies by on planes when I’m drinking jack and cokes while gaming.
Nothing like having a jack and coke at 6:30am last Thursday while playing Aggelos. Then landing in FLL and heading down to the Keys.
You and me would probably be homies if I still lived in VA. I used to love drinking Jack and Cokes while playing my 3DS on planes, back when I still drank.
My nickname is Captain Morgan but Southwest doesn’t serve it, so I have to stick with Jack on the flights. I typically get a double while on flights but it was too early to get a double lol. I just like getting a little relaxed and chilling while I game though, takes the edge off a little bit.
EDIT:
When did you live in VA? Were you ever into the local SF4 scene? I’m in MD but went to VA a couple times for tourneys and get togethers.
Cap n Coke is the best drink.
