I’m just taking my time unlocking characters through classic mode. I didn’t play Smash 4 very much and it’s nice to be able to fuck around with each character kinda systematically to get a bit more familiar with everyone. I’m hoping it’ll make me a better player before going online.

Play long enough in Adventure mode, go into any other mode, and get 4 or 5 challenge matches in a row.
I unlocked alot of people that way.

Duck Hunt was the last character I needed. Took me three tries but I took him down with very little trouble using Mega Man, my Smash 4 main. All told, it was fun unlocking everyone even though I did get salty numerous times.
Now to build up some cash so I can buy moar music! Have you guys screwed around in My Music yet? The Molgera (Legend of Zelda stages) remix is godlike! We even have Monster Hunter music in this game! I mean, I’ve never played Monster Hunter but I still think it’s pretty cool. Also, the F-ZERO Medley is sure to give off some series SEGA music vibes, especially if you’ve played the Daytona games. I’m just glad F-ZERO got a more remixes besides just Mute City. I LOVE the Sand Ocean remix.
I’m hearing a lot of people say King K. Rool is OP and will probably get nerfed. I’m no fighting game guru but while he is really powerful and his down smash tanks a lot of opponents moves, I don’t think he needs to be nerfed. Sadly, we’re living in the “OP, please nerf!” age. No one wants to learn a match up or how to adapt so they cry for nerfs. The game is only 3 days old, man.
The game is literally 3 days old. People are still figured out how to play. This kind of complaint happens with literally every competitive game

The game itself tells you the best strategy against him is to grab. Are people having problems with the super armor?

The super armor on K. Rool’s down smash is definitely an issue. It doesn’t help that grabs do not work on his down smash. Of course when his down smash is executed is a major factor as well. If it isn’t performed at just the right time, K. Rool can be punished.
I don’t know, I had to fight Rool in Adventure mode and he was a breeze with Link going Ham on his giant 500HP ass.
After playing Smash Ultimate, I don’t see how anyone can argue that it’s not a fighting game.

Why one would have a Switch that gets used in dock mode and not have a pro controller is beyond me. It’s legit probably the best controller on any console ever.

Pro controller is life. It’s so good. I use it whenever possible. I hate the joycons on the grip rails so much

I was gonna hold out for 8bitdo’s version with the handles, but decided to forget about it. Been using dualshock layouts for years, but it shouldn’t be an issue.
Yeah I can understand for some games sticking with the Joycon but the lack of a D pad makes most fighting games and some old school platformers a nightmare to adjust to. I am tempted to kick up the extra pro controller as a spare.
Too expensive, haven’t been able to buy one yet, hasn’t really been a priority shrug
Would make Bayonetta 2 easier tho…
Imma drop on that 3rd party GCN controller that works on Switch so I can use it on the go at work…until Nintendo makes GCN joycons
