And Ninty merked Wee-Gee to introduce the Vampire Killer, so yeah - when you introduce a character whose animated series involves dead, half-eaten babies being carried around in the maws of gorged demons, including a dude whose series includes wishbone disembowelments isn’t such a stretch.

Phil Spencer the head of Xbox already said he like to see Banjo and Kazooie in Smash. I’m not saying it will happen but MS isn’t a roadblock.

Bomberman is already an assist trophy in the game.

A team up with Microsoft isn’t that out of the question, despite everything I think NoA and Microsoft are still on pretty good terms. However while more likely, the MS rep I would prefer to have show up is Master Chief, just because that is MS biggest franchise and it would be hilarious to see him versus Samus Aran or Solid Snake.

Also KOS-MOS from Xenosaga should be in this, she is practically a Nintendo - Namco love child given Nintendo owns the original development team, Monolith Soft, and she has been in a bunch of games on Nintendo platforms due to the crossover game series they did and the DS remake of Xenosaga 1 and 2. I mean who wouldn’t love a legit robot waifu being added to the roster? Sorry Wii Fit Trainer, you don’t count and you never will.

I really wish this smash bros had a dlc code that you could buy to unlock everyone from the start without having to do world of light or a bajillion vs mode matches. I don’t have the time or patience for that shit. I just want to play the game.

It’s lazy and apart of the problem when it comes to “instant gratification gaming” but like, fuck. I just don’t want to do it

I don’t think it’s lazy at all. I don’t want to be force to play modes I normally ignore to get to the content I want. None of the characters I’m interested in are available from start. I have to play characters I don’t want to touch to get the ones I want. Being Nintendo, the unlocks are likely randomized. Fuck this.

I didn’t catch it the first time I watched the trailer but apparently MK11 will be on the switch as well. I mean cool but at the same time…meh? If you plan on playing it even remotely seriously you’d want it on the console it runs the best on And is the tournament standard (PS4) right? Why play on an inferior system? I just don’t get it.

I guess that’s what happens when you’ve been going to fighting game tournaments since you were 16.

Most people getting MK aren’t gonna take it seriously and are getting it to do fatalities and play thru the story mode.

I suppose. I find that silly though. But I haven’t been a casual fighting game player since I was 16 so it’s hard to see fighting games casually, I guess.

I’m sure there are folks who don’t own a PS4 but have a Switch, or maybe they’d like to be able to play it on a mobile platform?

I get that but at the same time I don’t. Fighting games aren’t meant to take casually. They’re competitive by nature. So like…why?

I also just went to Best Buy to buy Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom and it said they had 2 in stock. The employees couldn’t find shit but I saw like 4983248309242 copies of Smash in the lock cage. After waiting for them looking for like 20 minutes they ended up not finding shit so I walked away with nothing.

Scorpian would break every single hype meter known to man. Think about it, Ryu vs Scorpian in smash! Also with MK11 being released it would be free/cheap marketing for NRS. They might even make some chump change from it. Too much sense not to.

As someone who doesn’t really care for competitive smash, the unlocking is fun(albeit frustrating atm since I suck and the CPU is actually good?). But I agree, there should be an option to unlock everything from the smart whether it’s paid DLC or not.

You can take a game as seriously as you like, just because it’s competitive doesn’t mean you gotta go hard in the paint. Most people don’t give a shit about tournaments, they want to play with their friends or do the story and krypt bullshit, and there is no easier system to take with you and get person to person matches with then the Switch.

WE (read: people who play things semi comp to fully comp) are a small % of people who play fighting games despite what a tournament seen looks like. You think MK got to be the no. Selling fighting game so far this generation on just US? And besides…MK on the go? Sure I’ll take that. I can buy it for PS4 and I can buy it for my switch for easier pick up and play.

Smash isn’t a fighter though? I don’t look at it as a competitive game.

Wouldn’t really say I find MK competitive either, but people do, so my opinion on that is pretty irrelevant.
