I’m the millionth person to do this but…I finally got a DS. I picked up Elite Beat Agents, but what do I buy now (this thread is too long to read through). I know Phenoix Wright, Tramua Center, and Puzzle Quest are good buys but what other good DS exclusives are there that haven’t been hyped up too much?
Picross is probably the only other strongly recommended game. Puzzle Quest and and the PW games are okay, but aren’t really must-get games to me.
I’m a really big SRPG fan and I was really looking forward to Luminous Arc, but the controls are making me not want to play much. I’d rather use the stylus on my DS because the damn thing is so small my hand cramps if I play too long on it unless I use the stylus, but there are issues with the touch and the menu is slow while you try and access different options like moving and attacking with the stylus. I’ll probably switch over to using just the regular controls to see how it is later. As for Rune Factory, I have 2 little sisters and they both love the game so I think it’d probably entertaining to play for a bit.
Ys Strategy came out before Heroes of Mana.
I was really disappointed in heroes of mana. I just wanted starcraft on my DS really, but instead I got a bad turn based game that they converted to real time for some reason. The feeling that it’s a half assed turn based to real time conversion just hangs on me.
Luminous Arc has really pleased me though. I like a lot of the designs and while the battle system is simple, I have enjoyed the story and dialogue very much.
No one else getting Brain Age 2? I’m actually pretty excited about it.
Just beasted on the first case of phoenix wright 3. Everyone should play 1 and 2 u will love this shit. I never reallly laughed out loud playing a game till I played this shit, go get it!
Picross wifi is so random, I play a few beginners, then get a streak, then I play some guy “UNSTOPPABLE” level.

I kinda want to get the bundle, but I don’t really need a DS Lite since I’m pretty content with my 1st Gen. Maybe I’ll stop by a store on the way home today and pick it up. Hey, it’s $20, what do I have to lose besides … $20, right?
What is Picross like? I read the box art in the store, but I didn’t really understand the concept.
If you are going to pick it up, its $15 at Circuit City. Best Buy will price match it if its closer to you. I usually don’t even bring in an ad, they just look it up.
Also, Picross is awesome once you understand it. The numbers you see represent the number of consecutive marked blocks. So if you’re looking at a row that is 10 blocks wide and next to it you see: “5 4”, you mark the first 5 blocks, then skip one, then mark the next 4. Then that row is complete. It gets harder later, since the gaps between the numbers could be any number of blocks. For instance, instead of “5 4” if you see “3 3”, there will be 2 sets of 3 blocks, but you don’t know where the blank blocks will go between them (and either side).
Its a little confusing at first, but try wiipicross.com to try a few samples. It gets pretty addicting.
Also, Brain Age 2 has a Dr. Mario clone…
I agree about the stylus problems with Luminous Arc; I just switched over to the regular controls and it plays fine now.

Konami is working on a new International Track & Field with Sumo Digital and Udon. I don’t know whatsup with the gorons in that screen shot, but I’m excited. If they bring the franchise back the way it should be, I’ll be very happy.
Best Buy is like across the street from CC where I’m at. Nice! I might just bring in a flyer from CC just in case; I don’t think they have a very big staff that is keen on pricematching.

I got the new Brain Age Bundle. The case is so damn bad ass. It’s like a cell phone hip case. It’s red on the inside with the DS logo (two screens) as a pattern. Has three slots for games and elastic bands so you can use the Lite in the case. Red stitching throughout. I’ll take pics later.
System itself is sweet. Only shiny surface is the crimson top. The red is a very deep wine-like red. The black part is matte which looks a little odd but it works. Gonna get my hori stylus from the Castlevania Portrait of Ruin pre-order gift and put it in there.
I’ll also come back with impressions of Brain Age 2 later.
You should take a picture of the DS Lite. I’m very, very close to just picking it up and I’m a pushover when it comes to impulse buying. hahah post a picture and I’ll probably go to Circuit City today after work and buy the whole thing. 
Almost, but not. I was referring to that crimson/black one that comes with Brain Age 2. Although I’m teetering on that edge there, Mr. Saga. So it’s not a total loss.
Ah well. I went and picked up House Season 3 and Brain Age 2.
39 years old. Ah. Time to start training again.
