^ Pretty much. If you don’t own Lite, get the Red-Black Brain Age 2 bundle, which should be out later on this month.
Getting Pokemon Pearl with pouch, but I might sell it on eBay because I want an R4.
Quiche, how does the mike work for PPL?
superior tech!
moar infoplz
My knowledge of the topic is limited to EZ-FLASH brand flash carts and No Pass products. MechZZ seems fully capable of assisting you in all things R4/other brands, so I’d send a PM or two his way and weigh out your options. I apologize in advance to the mods if this post is borderline in terms of legality.
Bleach 2 is Godly…too damn good.
Glory Days 2 only has local… no wifi =\
Thank you. My box gets like 20345723 PMs and my biggest pet peeve is if they’ve never posted in the thread before and they don’t even say please or thank you
Any word on Heroes of Mana? I’ve been wanting an RTS on the DS since I got it, but Square seems to love kicking the Mana series in the nads.
Every review I’ve read about it says that it is mediocre to bad. Wait for FF XII Revenant Wings, I hear that is much better.
I hated Squaresoft RTSs since FF 7. Damn polygon dragon/wryen keeps ruining my guard.
The CPU whores the magic, but I’m still learning how to deal with that issue. I’ll complain about the overusage of character profile pictures(I got two to three mercs with the same pictures as the enemy) and blant top screen view. Cosmetically, nothing to brag about yet. Looks like a direct port retouched. The dialogue is par so far. I’m hoping it gets better.
Lol, Madden 08 is WFC! Too bad Madden is nothing but shit.
Glory Days 2 is hard as fuck.
MK is out Oct/Nov so that should be good.
Quiche I must take you on in that man…I’m in need of some good players online!
Can anyone recommend a good SRPG with level grinding like Tactics? I need something to hold me over while Revenat Wings and Tactics A2 comes out; Luminous Arc seems to be a strong contender.
hoshigami is good. It’s an old Ps srpg that got ported. Luminous arc is a big ffta rip off and heroes of mana because it’s an rts in the vain of ff12rw if i were you, looking for a stop and go srpg hoshigami is a good choice and luminous arc as a close 2nd.
EDIT: Glory days 2 is that shit. 'm really liking the game. It definitly deserves headphones. It’s well composed to boot. Everyone, please pick that game up ecaue it’s awesome and will probably go by as an underrated game.
I think Luminous Arc will be good choice. I’m definitely going to pick it up.
I hear Luminous Arc sucks, but take it with a grain of salt as it was a magazine review and they’re morons 98% of the time.
Yeah thanks but at most I don’t really care what (some) magazine says. I just like Atlus’s strategy games
Hoshigami is good so far, battlewise. Addicting. It used to be an Atlus product. Well, when it was released. Aksys took it up for the DS version’s English localization. It’s doing great justice to the genre. It’s got a 3D view to it, so there’s alot of rotation involved. Still, I won’t get too into what’s what and what’s not because I haven’t played the original. The one thing said was the fact that Hoshigami’s original difficulty level is now named “hard”. The two other levels prep you for this, with an Easy and a Normal.
I lost faith in publications, also. Still, for those of you who haven’t: Luminous Arc was graded a 70%(28/40) from the well respected publication, Famitsu, and their 4 panel judging system(four guys/girls rate the game). The result: Hoshigami was graded an ok by them(they stated that the game was solid, but has its’ original problems, 60% or so), but also, Hoshigami has given american reviewers a case of cheater’s syndrome. The reviews for Hoshigami were so mixed up, the good grades had bad comments and vice versa. It sounded more like an aliby for infidelity than a game review.
So far, and about 2 days from stateside release, Luminous Arc looks awesome, with some voice over work, time-released online play, and a sturdy system of fighting. If you want to fight online with others, it’s the better title. Just be advised that inorder to level up, you’ll have to repeat fights to do that. Groundhog Day gameplay should be left to Bill Murray, IMO.
On a similiar note, Hoshigami allows you to grind with the Towers of Trial, a 30 battle-room building, that starts off with Level 1 fighters. The levels gradually increase per battle and the room terrain also changes. Once you complete a battle, you will be able to either leave, or continue on with the next sortie. The game also allows you to save your progress in the towers, so when you return to that one tower, you will be able to continue at the floor you left off at.
My only two gripes now, are the magic system, and the fact that you have a one death system and no in-battle saves. That part there is illogical. Still an enjoyable title. Hoshigami might have trouble going up against Luminous Arc due to some “manly bicep interference”, though. Either one can suffice the whole. They’re no Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis, to me so far, which should be considered a high tier SRPG game to grace a portable Nintendo system. Hoshigami is pretty close because it can RAP.
Anyone know of any good scrolling shooters (like Giga Wing etc) for the DS?
