The Nintendo DS thread v.2

what’s the best flash card? i’m thinking about getting a cyclo ds.

Any impressions? Have you played multi?

God, Days of Ruin is so good. I mean, I was miffed because they eliminated all the old COs (Sami, Andy, Lash, especially), but in return, Intelligent Systems gave us the new CO system where it’s assigned to a unit. It fixes a lot of the problems the old Advance Wars had with super co power spamming. It’s also incredibly balanced. Well, except maybe for Tabitha.

The one thing I do miss from the old AW is having a decent War Room. They just threw in a bunch of non-campaign maps into the campaign section. Heck, you can’t even pick the CO you want to use. . .which I found particularly annoying.

Searched the thread for “External”, but came up with nothing. Can anyone recommend a good external backup battery for extended use (DS Lite or multi type)? Going on a long trip soon, and want to make sure my sons DS will be good to go for the long haul.

Rhythm Heaven is an amazon.com gold box lightning deal right now for $13. This is a great deal, I love the game. If you buy it though, you can’t come here and complain that the game isn’t responsive. Its you.

Kidding. But not really.

Seconded. Over 100 Hrs playtime = You have a pretty good grasp of the game

Also made myself Thor in SMT. He has one massive Atk stat but his Mag stat is 3!!! So I doubt he can Elec Dance very well or at all.

Anyone else playing this game and know how long it is? I’m still on Day 2 and fusing demons/ doing free battles for Macca.

smt is a decent length game…it is as long as you can read, there’s tons of dialogue. i played through it twice, going for a third…first time took a long ass time. new game + and dialogue skip made the second run through only a few hours. it’s kinda interesting to let some characters die, see how the story changes, or take other paths to reveal different sections of the story.

aside from the monster’s base stats, they can be increased with fusions, so you don’t have to worry about it too much.

dstt

I’m probably late on the Luminous Arc 2 wagon, but it’s actually pretty decent. It’s not as versatile as FFT where you have job classes, but for a SRPG offering, it’s not half bad. There’s lots and lots of dialogue though. Like. . .Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door level of dialogue.

cycloDS IS the best, barring price as an issue of consideration.

Most reliable, great support, great interface, good support from skinners, SDHC, all of the extras like real time save, the only card that can use the “connect to wii” feature on every game, etc…

bought a dsi finally, got bored with the camera but the sound recorder is a bit fun.

are the emulators good? i just want to play some snes games really.

time to look for my old ds which was split and hanging on the wires to get jump superstars.

r4sdhc is cheap and awesome.

Looks a lot like those SNES SMT’s aka… I like what I see.

Finally get to see it in action too…kinda

Good Find

no i haven’t tried multiplayer

once u beat the game there’s basicly an infinite amount of treasure dungeons to explore, and lots of bosses to fight. You can also level the bosses up as you fight them to get more of a challenge. I’ve only done about 65% of the recipes, and still working on the quests.

I refuse to buy that since the 2 that I had burned fuses in FIVE DS Lites. Luckily I had them under warranty with Gamestop.

I’ve had 0 problems with my DSTT.

which is best?

Hotel dusk is the shit easily one of the best ds games:rock:

i have the r4i-SDHC. can handle up to 32GB of SDHC goodness; i have a 16GB SDHC card in it now; more than enough room until the next Gameboy handheld comes out.

Is your R4i’s menuscreen in japanese? I’m looking to buy another flashcard soon but I ended up buying a R4DS SDHC that was a shitty clone.

Cool, thanks for the impressions

If you pre-order Scribblenauts, you get a free rooster hat! Cemented it for me, haha. This game is going to rock.
