Have you guys seen the trade-in deal at Gamestop? Trade in your DS Lite and you’ll get $70 towards a DSi. Not bad, I think it brings the price of the DSi down to about $100. So if anyone was planning on picking up the DSi I’d look into that. I’m looking to trade in my lite because the L and R button work sporadically, and I’m sure they won’t test it, I’m a jerk like that.
I was also told that you could trade in multiple DS DS Lites towards this offer, so potentially bring two DS Lites and get a DSi for around $40-$50, well, that’s if you’re weird like me and have a couple just sort of laying around.
One thing you might want to do if your shoulder buttons aren’t working all the time: Lift the button a little with your thumb and forefinger, then blow in it. Sometimes dirt gets trapped in there and that’s all you have to do to fix it. My L button stopped pressing down and I freaked out, but then I blew inside the button a few minutes later and it was fine.
I was planning on doing the Gamestop trade in with mine, but the plastic on the left hinge broke off. Works fine and it won’t fall apart, I just don’t know if they’ll accept it. Someone might be buying mine though, so either way, I should have funds to upgrade.
I thought the DSi was kinda dumb when they first announced it, but for some reason, I’m kind of hyped for it now. Rhythm Heaven (Rhythm Tengoku Gold) comes out the same day, hope you guys pick it up.
Is there any homebrew app or actual game where I can make flashcards? like, a custom notecard editor so I can get my learn on? I know they have a japanese kanji flashcard type of game for DS
what’s with this dsi i keep hearing about? there’s only a camera feature to it that’s new? i never got into the whole micro sd thing with my dslite. should i look into getting a card for it?
Yup. Slightly bigger screens and better sound. They removed the GBA slot and added an SD card slot. You won’t be able to use the SD cards the way that they’re used on the DS/DS Lite (which is for homebrew and piracy), supposedly, but you will be able to play music, store photos and download DSiWare games.
I heard some of the songs are actually different in the american version. Its a localized version of Rhythm Tengoku Gold, so the games are the same, except english-friendly.
^ awww, that makes me sad. ive watched a few of the jap vids, and i just think rhythm games sound better in JAP. I mean elite beat agents was fun, but it had nothing on ouendan. also, is the DSI region free for DS games?
I just recently started playing the new Valkyrie Profile game, it’s a good game, kind of a mix of strategy RPGs and the traditional Valkyrie profile battles. So far I’m liking it. Haven’t played the new Suikoden but I’ll probably check it out over the next few days.
