The Nintendo DS thread v.2

round yo neck son you blingin

Well, I beat FFTA; It’s my first time beating it since it’s release (granted, I’ve only owned it for a few months).

It was pretty sudden, and not really that climactic of an ending, but it really suited the story.
I have a new appreciate for this game; while it isn’t as great or epic game as the original Tactics, it seems as though it wasn’t meant to be as epic.

I doubt I’ll try and finish all 300 missions, but you never know.

Anyway, I was looking at the upcoming RPG list again that King9999 so graciously posted, and I realised something: every game has an incarnation of anime derived characters.

Don’t get me wrong, some of the art styles are interesting, but it seems to be a piller or staple of RPG’s these days. It would be nice to see an RPG with some realistic art, or even a fresher approach to the Japanese artstyle. I’m thinking something along the lines of the original Suikoden art, which is my opnion by far some of the greatest character design to date.

Anyway, I digress.

I’m really excited to see what the DS will bring next.

Did I hear somewhere that a version of FF13 was coming to the DS, or am I confusing that with something else?

Anyway, even though my PSP has emulators out the ass, my DS still gets more attention.

Prove me wrong, Sony. Release something I actually want to spend money on.

Oh yeah, almost forgot: thanks, Stu:tup:

well yah this trick doesnt work on bosses… but for them you can crank your level all the way back to the top and still be able to coast thru

so did they update neo geo ds so you can change the button layout yet?

Started playing PoR again; I love the fact that you can level up your secondary weapons to make them stronger.

This time through, I took some extra time to level up my Shuriken before fighting the first boss.

I like TWEWY, but I have to admit, I don’t like the combat very much. Seems too… loose? It just doesn’t feel tight or like what I’m doing really matters. I just tap on crabs and kangaroos and shit and they go away. The story is weighing on me too. I just loaded bangai-o on the card. I actually hope it gives me something to stop playing TWEWY.

As far as I can tell, no.
Some games allow you to boot with a console BIOS so you can change the controls through and options menu though.

Otherwise, some games get really annoying to control…

Tecmo Bowl is coming to the DS & Wii

Took a break from TWEWY to play Heroes of Mana. I’m really liking it so far. Which is saying a lot for me cause I usually hate tactic rpg games.

Only ones I’ve liked:
La Pucelle Tactics (Cause you purified/captured monsters and used them as units.)

Vanguard Bandits (Epic game. I love it. All the missions were fun. The game was actually challenging, loved the characters.)

FFXII: Revenant Wings - I thought this game would suck honestly but I was very impressed. Great battle system and good use of characters.

Yep I’m thinking about picking this up, seen some screenshots.

FFIV is my favorite FF next to 9. Which, actually, might be outranked by IV honestly.

So, I’m SUPER pumped about this.

FFIV on DS was pretty good, i played thru it 3 times

Let’s pray for wi-fi !

So, the sequel to “Band Brothers” (a game that never came to the states) is being released this year for the DS. Its basically a music game, you can make your own music, too. However, the cool part about the sequel is that it will allow you to add a channel to the Wii so you can stream your music to your TV. I thought that was pretty cool.

Any advice for a good DS game that hasn’t come out in the US and worth importing?

OOOOEEEEEEUUUUUUUDANNNNNNNN

But yeah

Thanks, but I Guess I should have mentioned it but every game aside from
Ouendan 1,2
