Please explain who is actually going to
1.) See the df light kick and think I can punish that… and
2.) Actually try to dp it without mashing?
According to frame data, there’s a ton of shit that should get punished, but frame data /=/ real gameplay. I’ve done it to even the best players. No one is gonna react to that shit.

Ivory cutter is another good move that punishes nearly all backdashes with a ground bounce. It eats up most of your juggle opportunity if both hits connect, but you can still do another ivory cutter and switch cancel that for some big dmg (especially if your incoming character has a low hitting hard attack from their neutral jump like julia’s n.jump hk).

So after reading from badintent’s post that command grabs work in the punish rolls window. I think this ups nina’s pressure alot especially with ex rolling dash catching standing and crouching opponents. Or do yall think it will be better to just take away the red health with regular throw?

i think you wont be able to react fast enough to catch them with ex dash.
its pretty slow you know. and wild guessing with 1 bar is just isnt worth it.
+nina’s grab is technically a strike attack so i guess it doesnt work at all.

It’s unblockable.

unblockable means you cannot block it, obviously. but it doesnt make it a command grab.
techically its a strike so yea, shit like heihachi counter works. and my bet is that it wont work against rolls aswell.

Except there are 7 frames at the end of a roll where you’re vulnerable to strikes but are allowed to block. EX Rolling Grab is Unblockable. Want to do the rest of the math?

A counter is completely different in this instance.

asd, i am dumb. either way move is too slow to be viable roll-catcher. and i dont know if there is any OS for it.

Agreed, there’s honestly no point to doing EX Rolling Dash when it would be quicker to walk/dash up and throw them, take away all their red health and not burn any meter.

How does nina get in and what kind of block strings should I use?

She gets in through a decent footsie game and rolling dash. block strings? both st.MP and cr.MP are + on block so being able to CADC those normals into more pressure are a good place to start, her lp mp string is good for pressure cuz you can cancel the string back into her 3f jab and catch people pressing buttons.

the nerf on her hurtbox is really showing. lots of hit limbs. could you always inturrupt her mk,lk,mp string? got punished by poisons spinny upkick thingy(that is the name for it right) if not it should be.

got my mk and cr mk stuffed a few times that i did not before.

You can see the nerf on her cr.lk for sure. But either way she is still a strong low tier character:cool:

Any use for the Blonde Bomb as a poke? I know it’s -6 on block, but is there anyway of using this to get in?

Oh no, I didn’t mean I couldn’t use anything else. I was just curious if you could use BB to get in, as well as her other tools.

outside of combos, i only use it to kill with chip.

This is about the only use I’ve found for it outside of just buffering it into a cr. jab or some other quick poke. It’s main purpose is really just as a combo ender. Or if you are playing a shoto and you use the ex version to get through fireballs.

BTW, some of my matches will be up on ssf4evo’s next SFXT video, come watch as I struggle to learn the timing for my own freaking BNB’s. lol

ex is so slow it pisses me off. it reminds me cammy spin knuckle in terms of usefulness.
why its not just hp version with crumple is beyond me.
