The game needed a fat guy?
The game is based on the first half of the HnK manga. Fudo and the Nanto Goshasei don’t come around until after Souther died. I personally like Heart-sama. He was the most memorable of Shin’s henchmen and the only one that gave Ken a “challenge” of course they could’ve just subbed in Wingul for the “Big guy” role too…
Anyone know how many cabs and ps2 games of HnK were sold? Can I look forward to a sequel?
Can’t look forward to a sequel until legal issues are out of the way and Arcsys gets the time/team to work on it. They certainly made some good money on the game, but more importantly it would be a massive waste of money for them to not do at least one revision after spending so much time/money on sprites.
I would be very surprised not to see a sequel, but it might be a while before we do.
Except they had Raoh’s death in the form of the “I HAVE NO REGRETS!” ending.
As for giving Ken a challenge, no one really gave him a challege. One or two lucky hits =/= challenge. That would mean we’d probably see Devil Rebirth and Wigul, which I wouldn’t mind.
Don’t get me wrong, I dig Heart, but this is more of a shot at the HnK fandom in general, since Fudo’s essentially gotten no respect for being an incredibly memorable character. But it’s just me, I guess.
What legal issues? Also, do you mean revisions like guilty gear, will we see revisions titled HnK: Exploding reverse flame neck breaking touch of death version? Apologies, for I am clueless in regards to the state of the HnK franchise.
thanks
Pharaon, how long have you been playing this game and how did you get so good?
Well they needed SOME kind of Boss/Ending. :looney:
Well he didn’t have any regrets at the end of the series. He made shit right. /end derail
Yeah, but that’s at the END of the series.
Ah well, I suppose they made that ending just in case HnK didn’t do that well
Legal issues because ArcSys doesn’t own the HnK series, so they have to go through the people that do own it before they do anything. Depending on how anal the guys are that own HnK, they might even dictate what features/characters can or can’t be in the game.
But yeah, that’s what I mean by revision. A new version of the game with new systems/characters/etc. It’s possible Arc is already working on it but hasn’t said anything yet. Of course it’s also possible they are just working on other games.
Thing is though, Accent Core is almost out on PS2. Hokuto is out on PS2. Battle Fantasia just hit arcades. Arc must be working on at least one project they haven’t let on about yet.
Anybody got any quckie advice for using Mamiya? I’m thinking of using her since my Shin sucks balls and Kenshiro’s a pain to use. She looks like a zoning/poking type of character. AmIRite?
I’ve been playing HNK for about a year.
After watching the vids that are posted, i’m starting to wonder why I should continue playing w/ Shin when I know he doesn’t compare to either Raoh or Toki.
Pretty much. Play her like a crappy version of Juda with more zoning and less rushdown. Her unblockable strike and CD attack are both very good so get good at using them. You’ll want to try to knock people down and then throw out helmet bombs, then shoot them with the low arrow. This will keep them blocking long enough to run up and do an unblockable strike, or at least force them to block a CD.
f.D is good because you can jump cancel it. You can do some mediocre but serviceable mixups with it. 2B is a good quick low hit that you can use to start good combos with some Boost.
Her 236236A I believe is invincible and starts up some really silly combos. Her motorcycle I believe is also invincible on startup and is good for pissing people off.
Some basic combos:
CD 6, C AC 2369A |> A, > j.B, j.B |> j.B, j.B |> C 236236A/C
CD 6, A, 8 > j.B, j.B |> AC 2369A |> IAD j.B |> C 236236A
2B 2B 2C CDE 6, A, 8 |> j.B, j.B |> j.B, j.B |> j.B, j.B |> C 236236A/C
2B 2B 2C CDE 6, AC 2369A E |> A, > j.B, j.B |> j.B, j.B |> C 236236A/C
From the 236236A, there are a number of different ways to get long combos but none of them really do any serious damage unless you setup for the infinite. It’s better to use 236236C when possible as it saves you arrows, spike charge, and headache. Anyway, you can do these on most of the cast but you’ll have to adjust slightly for light/heavy weights:
236236A, j.A C B A A C B B A A A C B B B C E
236236A, j.B B A A A A A A A A C B B B A A A C B B B E
236236A, j.B B, |> 236CD …
The basic idea is that B raises them up, C spikes them down, and A is fairly neutral. You just have to cycle them in a proper order to keep hits going. The real goal though is to just get about 30 hits so that you can start the infinite from there. Her infinite is by far the easiest to setup/do so it’s worth learning. There are much better 236236A combos than these, those are just some of the easy ones. They’ll setup for the infinite if you have max arrows when you do them.
What’s the command for her air move where she throws a bunch of daggers at her opponent after an air combo from the Bondage Super?
press E button. Uses up all your remaining arrows.
You just have to watch the right vids. Shin has a mean throw game, takes stars off easily, and he can guardbreak everyone in the game with relative ease. He’s still an excellent pick up and play character.
Shin eats your stars for breakfast…ferrealz
