The newest Castlevania game... is a FIGHTING game!

Art looks pretty good (I still prefer Kojima), but this probably won’t be a good game. I hope Konami surprises me, though.

I’m buying a Wii just to play this. I hate/love you Konami lol! Eh I’ll finally be able to play Smash and download Super Castlevania, my favorite game in the franchise. It’s all good I guess.

Yeah Simon’s looked ‘girly’ for a while now. It started with the last Castlevania 1 remake, continued on the Dream Mix TV Fighter and he’ll most likely have a chibi girly look in the DS Track & Field game too. Kind of used to / expect it now, not that I’m entirely happy with it but that’s just how it is I guess, shrug…

WTF?
They gay’d up Simon and Alucard something fierce. And since when did Maria become some goth loli? Maybe they’re basing her off of the Dracula X version or something. No comment on Dracula.

Just realized, Alucard looks disturbingly similar to Chris Lightfellow…

uh alucard was always extremely gay sorry to burst your bubble

was i the only one that liked the SNES version of TMNT:TF?

Konami made it, and I wished they made more fighters, so Casltevania sounds kinda cool. I think they had potential (though 3d on Wii is a bit…:wtf:)

Except for Castlevania III where he was just Dracula with a bad haircut. But yeah ever since Symphony… :looney:

I know I should be hyped for a Castlevania fighter, but I’m not feeling it.

But I hope Alucard still sounds like Laurence Fishburne.

Looking kinda Rugal there, Dracula.

I’m kinda interested in this. I’m hoping for alternate outfits because that Maria and Simon hurts my brain.

I just want him to have the move where he hits everything on the screen and also gets life back

a castlevania fighting game???

I don’t know why they just didn’t team up with namco and put them in SC. With the way recent 3d CV games have been, I have little faith in this game.

What the bloody hell did they do to Maria? O_o

I can already tell that this will probably be crap. If you’re going to make a fighting game based on Wii controls, building on an already established perspective and mechanics aren’t the way to go. I’d feel far better if it had mechanics built ground up for the Wii. I could give examples if some would like.

But perhaps I’m being a little too judgemental on this due to the game seeing to be in traditional 3D fighting perspective in that screenshot.

Agreed. I don’t see how they expect to get the Castlevania feel as a 3D fighter. I mean they can’t even get a 3D version of the series right (here’s a hint IGA do what you did for Dracula X and copy Metroid) now they want to try 3D and a completely different genre with completely different form of play (the controls)? No thanks. I mean I agree it would be pretty cool to have Castlevania with motion controls but not in this form nor by the current incentive by these developers.

farooq?

Looks more like Sephiroth with AIDS wearing Jivatma’s outfit to me…

nah, the art doesnt look that bad, still i would preffer the art a la symphony or the remix of dracula x, or the red hair simon like this one

maybe the art direction its fault of nintendo (again )

I don’t really get what you mean by that. The reason the art was so shitty and generic for the DS titles was because Iga was trying to get the game out to a younger audience.

Exactly. Ninty themselves had no real say in what went into the CV titles. It was all IGA and his team’s idea to try and use the anime art style as a means to try and reach out towards more people.

Thankfully, that dead-end direction has finally been repealed. I’m liking Masaki’s art style for OoE much better than even Kojima’s art at this point. At least the guys Masaki draws actually look like MEN…

Any way…as I’ve said on other boards, this game looks like it has “8ing” written all over it. Would make sense, considering that 8ing was both a) done with Fate Unlimited Codes months ago for Capcom and b) was bought up by Konami when they bought up the Takara/Tomy bunch a while back.

So, if that be the case, it would probably be a thing that, if you know dig 8ing’s games, you’ll probably go on to like their take on a Castlevania FG.

All I ask is just for more control schemes beyond the waggle and nunchuk. You can make whatever wonky control schemes you want, IGA (and 8ing), but give me the right to use my GC Controller and CC controller, if you please. :karate:
