The Ayami art looks just like what you don’t like, and the ones before that he just looks like a nerd cosplaying.
Personally, I think Ayami Kojima (Symphony of the Night and later) is fantastic and any Castlevania art by anyone else just fades away in comparison. She is just so freaking talanted, and it’s all traditional art too, not CG. Blows my mind. Just amazing
Also…
Marcus is the most repulsive character design in history. He and his little beard, attitude and “gangsta” head scarf can go fuck themselves.
Epic used to make cool characters too, but they lost their touch after UT 2004. Everything since then has been visually boring as hell.
Besides, he was asking about a tier list, not more opinions on the remake of characters… There’s been plenty of pages about that already.
Circle of the Moon
Harmony of Dissonance
Aria of Sorrow
Dawn of Sorrow
Portrait of Ruin
Order of Ecclesia
They all follow the blueprint SotN set, and are all brilliant in their own right. Especially Aria/Dawn.
They’re all playable on the DS (CotM,HoD and AoS are GBA), so it’s worth it to pick on up.
I dunno. I tried looking for the thread, but it was months ago that we did it so it’s buried in the archives. www.chapelofresonance.com/forum Should be under Castlevania Discussion if you want to look for it.
Sorry I realize this is like months old but I found this hilarious
Maria’s original look from Rondo, you know, the game she’s even from is like waay more lolicon creeper than her look in this game. I guess they were going for halfway between that and her Symphony thing.
I’ll grant you that the old Belmonts look more like a side of beef with a whip than the modern-day fashionistas, though.
I haven’t really liked a Castlevania since 3 but I’m like that
Rondo’s a good game on a niche system, that was the predecessor to everyone’s favorite PS1 Castlevania. For the longest time, it was nigh inaccessible save for the hardcore. That’s sure to boost people’s ratings of it to over the top.
