The newest Castlevania game... is a FIGHTING game!

I think you left off the last 4 numbers?

EDIT: Oh this is your name and numbers for this game, nevermind. I’ll toss up mine when I’ll get a chance.

So I’m starting to think that the only way to win with shitbags like Eric Lecarde is the stop watch sub weapon. He has a giant combo off of his Piercing Rain–>Ultimus (jump A + B, then A + B) that deals 50% without meter, but there’s no way to effectively land it since he can’t catch up to anyone. Rolling your way into a semi-close distance, then activating stop watch allows you to move in and do it though, practically for free. The combo is: jump A + B, A + B, B, B, B, F + A + B, L + B. You have to make sure that the second A + B extension hits as the stop watch deactivates, or the launcher won’t bump them up high enough for the follow-up.

If by some miracle you have 20 hearts, you can time stop, then perform jump A + B, A + B, B, B, B, F + A + B, jump cancel B into another time stop. From there you can land his super attack while they’re frozen. The whole combo deals 95%, but it’s pretty difficult to land.

Lecarde’s leaping dodge is actually pretty useful if someone is attacking you at close range. You can use it to dodge through ground attacks, then comeback down on their missed move with a Piercing Rain combo. This of course requires someone to actively attack you though, which they’ll never do. =(

I bought it :P.

I am glad I gave it a chance, because it is a hell of a lot of fun. Plays like Rumble Fighter on crack; and Rumble Fighter was pretty sweet.

So far I have become partial to Maria and Aeon. Aeon mainly because he has a Hyper Viper Beam and is otherwise awesome. Maria because she is a hell of a lot of fun and has the most kickass Guard Crush attack (Guardian! Come here!).

Is it just me though or will Aeon’s super only land against people who’ve never seen it before?

I’ll post my FC when I feel I’m acquainted enough with the game. Hope to find some good fighting this weekend ^_^.

still…waiting…on…sound track… lol

Yes Castlevania is back and I can’t wait to get this game for my collection. I’m the biggest Castlevania fan besides Street Fighter. Castlevania is my no. 2 series I like to get into afterwards. I have ALL of the games for PS, PS2, Nintendo, GBA and Nintendo DS. I want to play this sooooo bad and I aslo want the soundtrack as well. I hope they bring it out soon. Anyways this is a great fighting game for the Wii. I usually use the GameCube controller for my Wii for the controls. I hope you all do. Castlevania rocks!!:china::tup:

Aeon is the shit! I’m enjoying playing him a lot. His time watch mechanics really make him unique in that both players have are paying attention to him when he’s on the battlefield. Blue watch kamehameha makes him jump back a pretty good distance and can often catch people off guard if they’re worried about Gold watch chaos control. Hitting people with Gold Watch is probably the only way he can get off his super for free since it takes like 10 seconds to charge up, but the fact that it’s full screen is pretty nice…don’t know if it’s actually unblockable yet or not but with a charge time like that there’s gotta be some kind of balancing for it.

Thanks alot for your answer.

Maybe. Depends on how well the combo system works for the game or how much variety it has. needs to borrow Wii from friend anyhow :stuck_out_tongue:

Man, what?!

Damn it, now I’ve got to decide between this and Left 4 Dead. Oh well, I’ll work out something.

LMAO:looney:

Didn’t expect that.

It is unblockable. You’re still gonna have to immobilize them somehow (Gold Watch is most likely) for him to ever land it because Aeon being hit interrupts everything :. Unless there’s something I’m missing. Maria actually has a similar “problem”. She’s good all around except for her super.

Yeah. It’s blockable, short range and has no invincibility/super armor. If there was an other use for her meter like how Grant has, it’d be OK. But that aside, she’s got some good shit.

BBB->Fire Spin->Airborne Tsunami->f+B puts their guard in the red.

If Maria is in front of the camera, you can summon her Guardian while Tsunami is out then do f+B(or anything, really). The Tsunami will obscure your actions.

wow…lol

So now that peeps have had some time with this game… How’s Sypha?

already dreading cross-universal yaoi fanfiction by fans because of this game

I’m sorta surprised Soma Cruz isn’t in this game.

Not to mention the start-up. You have to be pretty tricky to land her super and even then, the damage could be better @_@. Oh well, it balances out her having Seiryunami, Suzakaaaaoooough and Byakoooohhh~.

What else can Grant do with his meter?

I know, you’d think he would be a shoe-in O_o. Especially since Aeon turned out looking disturbingly similar.

I’m sure they wanted to do something to maybe give warrant to a possible sequel. Soma and Julius could both feasibly be saved for such a thing, assuming this game sells well enough to even suggest a sequel.

Frankly, I’m hoping that the idea that IGA gave in one interview, where he entertained the idea of making a “Judgment” for DS comes to pass. It could just be a 2D game using all those decade old sprites and making it like a Mugen project, but we’d all still eat it up wouldn’t we? :wgrin:

Grant has a Lvl 3 B+A. He says “Run, RUN!” then throws a shitload of dagger/kunais at you. They automatically track(vertically and horizontally). There’s so many of them that if you block them you WILL be guard-broken. And after guard-breaking you, you’ll still take at least 30% damage. Also, he can do this no matter how much meter he has. The amount of meter determines for how long he can do it. So basically, a Grant player can run around while holding A until he glows a second time, press B and then the opponent goes into OH SHIT mode. Kinda like Aeon’s Kamehameclock. You have to run in a wide arc around the opponent to avoid it(Golem has to use his prolonged roll).

As an aside:

“Something something something TIME something.” -Aeon

He can even use the “OH SHIIII-” 1000 Knives in the middle of the air, for kicks.

Like in CV proper (or at least, the JP version of CV3), Grant thrives on staying away and whoring his knives. It’s what he does best.

Hah, and here I thought I got tired of typical anime humour when I turned 16.

Are there any match vids of talented players floating around the internet yet?
