The New Yu-Gi-Oh Thread: Construct Joins Stratos in the Halfway House

Buster Blader has Top 8’d a Regional. I…I got nothing.

A kaiju and slumber breaks boards apart because people usually have like only 1 card with a protection eff while everything else is negating monster effs. People should be running 3 slumber and more kaiju along with atleast 1 of waterfront.

Bruh, kaiju aren’t being mained properly. they being ran as a small engine when in reality if you play them with even 1 waterfront in ya deck their effects can win games by themselves.

Konami is basically pushing people to play kaiju but people still to slow to go all in with them.

Apparently Buster Bladers weren’t enough, LET’S ADD THE OG TO THE MIX TO REGIONAL TOPS.

I was perfectly fine letting the thread die, but I figured I might as well update it due to the new Erratas. They’re on the front page, I bolded the parts that were added.

People probably fearful of zoodiac beasts in february/…
I think zoodiac beasts are pretty weak though… consistent but weak.

Hmm, to that argument I’ll counter.

Zoodiacs are literally in 75% of all decks right now in the OCG and are so omnipresent that ABCs are all but non-existent in the OCG. Reminder, ABC’s were completely untouched by their banlist not once but twice.

^The main strength is a splash-able rank 4 engine with a free negation.
Just need space for atleast 3 Momolrat, 2 of the hand materials monster, 3 continuous spell and 4-5 extra deck.

Not as good as the Terrortop rank 3 engine but better in a sense with being able to abuse outer god loops for ritual decks.

It’s not just a Splashable Rank 4 Engine, plenty of those already exist. It’s a Splashable Rank 4 Engine that goes + a million and can start from 12 Targets meaning unlike Terrortop you will open it in around 95% of games. Even with some of the Limits the OCG List just got, it only lowers the targets from 12 to 8 which is still really easy to get into.

Also unlike Terrortop, you don’t run potential dead draws in the deck (especially since thanks to Emeral it can easily self recycle if you aren’t use the on-theme recycler) and it’s beneficial for literally every deck in the game. Not every deck really need the Rank 3 support of Terrortop, but every deck could use something that goes that deep into the deck with very little turn investment.

OCG ban list literally shut down the meta. Now it’s gonna be interesting to see what techs will be thrown in now.

And errata imperial order is still pretty damn good.

Uh…no it didn’t. Zoodiacs are still far superior to everything else out there. One Tenki and One Terrortop barely affects them at all.

Also Imperial Order is still a broken ass card. There’s no real way to not make it broken.

This game is a broken pile of broken though. I hate this power creep. I kind of just stick to playing on ygopro these days because buying cards is not worth for me.

Yeah, it’s a complete broken pile of shit…but honestly, that’s fine at this point. The game inevitably returns to that point every year anyway so Konami has just decided to embrace it and give EVERYTHING brokenness since they can’t revert.

At this point it’s just a matter of if you like broken shit or not. If you do, you can play basically anything you want in this game now. If you don’t, there are a ton of TCGs out there to play.

But in a sort of sick, twisted way I kind of like that Yugioh has embraced the identity that everyone have been putting on it for years. Just a “Let Me Be Evil” sort of thing.

I am STILL salty about the Goyo Guardian errata.

Did they NOT look at the TCG at all when making that change?

The OCG and Konami HQ doesn’t care at all about what the TCG is doing. To them, Harpies’ Feather Duster and Cyber-Stein are completely fair cards while Goyo Guardian is the ultimate boogeyman.

Maybe I need to watch more match vids because I don’t see how zodiacs are strong when they are so weak to stuff like maxx c and board wipes.

Because nearly every deck is weak to that right now. Every deck plays extremely similarly. They try to make a stupid board going first, going second is usually suicide. There are only a couple of outliers like Fluffals and even then they’re forced to play Night Beam just to not auto-lose to Dimensional Barrier.

If every deck has a similar goal, and are weak to the same things, then the advantage is going to go to who can do it the most consistently and with the most advantage and least commitment possible. Zoodiacs do all 3 which is why they’re played everywhere.

This won’t change until they either hit Zoodiacs extremely hard (only way to do that is to Limit/Ban Molmorat) or to play with the expectations of the format so what Zoodiacs do isn’t very powerful anymore.

so i use to play this game back when almost everything was not banned, i had no real deck at the time, then IOC came out, and i bought boxes and built a chaos deck with BLS, use to run shit like TIV(tribe infecting virus) etc.

i quit around the time cyber stein and cyber dragons were a thing.

now i am coming back to the game only because someone told me cyber dragons have made a return, so now i have a cyber dragon deck, cause he is my favorite monster in this entire game…

but i have a question…just what in the fuck has this game become? what is this shit? its like each game lasts like 3 turns, and each turn lasts like a millennium, lol. and what the fuck is this pendelum shit? why does it seem so broken? is there a site that has a good FAQ on pendulums, i dont quite understand how they work.

that avatar man, i played magic pretty competitively during my time away from yugioh, jace is still like my favorite card ever!

I’ll just save you the time. Don’t bother, and turn right back around and save yourself.

If you’re not into a TCG where each game never makes it past Turn 3 without both sides bricking, then it’s best to ignore and run away as fast as possible. This is what Yugioh is now and there’s absolutely no way to fix it. Like I said, Konami has just gone all in with the identity everyone had given them for years.

Man something I noticed about Zodiacs is that these motherfuckers can spam twin twisters and lose NOTHING. And I think I was playing against a bad build. But they just put a ton of cards in their hand, and somehow have a field full of monsters(and more than the average deck somehow). Reminds me of how Stellarknights were. Like you just play and at some point you run out of threats to deal with their threats. But they are 5 more cards up than you somehow so you get bodied.

Just talking because I’ve literally read like 3 cards from the deck.

ive been hearing that thats all the ocg meta is, is zodiacs. when do they come to the tcg?

haha, i dont mind the brokenness in all honesty, as long as cyber dragon can take part in it, i just wish each turn wasnt a million years. and i really dont like pendulums, wish they never came up with that mechanic.
