So will the odd eyes archetype actually be able to compete with other meta decks? Like, whats a good deck list for it? I’m like…wadding int he kiddie pool atm.I suppose i’ll order a box of breaker of shadows…or 3 boxes etc.
For the next month it will be relatively strong. The second BOSH drops? Well…everything is basically toast so Odd-Eyes really isn’t any worse off than literally every other deck in the format.
You want to know how much a card costs? Go there. It’ll give you average prices, lowest prices, all rarities and their individual prices, how it’s trending, the top 100 card prices, and every lot that’s currently available to buy said card from places like eBay, TCGPlayer and Amazon.
Now we all probably have a deck builder we like to use, but this one certainly deserves consideration. I’ll say it now, it’s a slower deckbuilder as you have to insert each card individually and wait for it to load and then change numbers and on top of that it’s still in Beta so you have things like Pendulums going under the Extra Deck section. However, what it does provide is the ability to instantaneously price out a deck that you want to build. It will also do it at the cheapest rarity. You want to build Yang Zings? Make a list, 5 minutes later you’ll know exactly how much the deck will cost, and even where to get the cards to buy online. And if that’s not enough you can instantly import your decklist to YGOPro to test out immediately.
Lastly, the newer kid on the block (and the one relevant to your question), Yugioh Top Decks.
It’ll tell you the most successful decks in a certain time period (though it’s a bit broad so it’s not as good as it could be at the moment), the most used cards but most importantly, instant access to decklists and deck profiles of Tops at Regionals and YCS tournies while also, yet again, telling you how much they cost in case you want to build the deck for yourself. Fair warning, any decks you see that hit over $1k are 99% sure to be running a YCS Promo card like Minerva or Giant Hand that jacks up the price out of nowhere so, you know, keep that in mind.
Also to answer your question, what Strike Prime said.
BOSH pretty much makes PePe the meteor that destroys the meta and with Infinity, Atlantean Prince, the Traptrix XYZ, and Solemn Notice makes the game have pricey staples again. It also makes rank 4 decks good enough to hang but not win.
Konami gave us a small mercy blow with the new ratios because if we had the same ratios for this set, boxes would be 120-150 within a month and no secret would be less than $80. But thats assuming Infinity or Wizard isnt secret.
The saving grace to all this is the fact monarchs will be really good and possibly cheap, depending on the rarity for Solemn Notice.
Monarchs won’t need to play Solemn Notice so it just depends on relevant Mega Monarchs showing up in the Structure or not.
Of course the issue is…it’s all irrelevant. Remember Return/TeleDaD? Airblade Turbo? Any of the few Tier 0 formats? This is the Tier 0 format to rule them all. Doesn’t matter what you use, it’s irrelevant. The only decks in the history of the game I believe would stand a chance are your typical FTK decks and Full Power Spellbooks with 3 Judgment mostly because that’s just a simply good matchup that PePe/EMEm would be ill-equipped for. Everything else, this deck outright destroys.
In the OCG, they have Harpie’s Feather Duster. They have a more powerful version of Burning Abyss than we ever had here due to Fiendish Rhino Warrior, two Allure of Darkness and of course their OCG Exclusive, Beatrice. It doesn’t even matter. BA is the only one really sneaking tops against them (and Monarchs even less so) and that’s because they go EXTREMELY anti-Pendulum, I’m talking maxing out on Anti-Spell Fragrance among other things. It still isn’t enough. The ability to just grab multiple Solemn Notice, arguably the best member of the Solemn Brigade ever (feel free to debate between it and Judgment, both have arguments) and lay them down turn 1 with ease is just…ugh, on top of building an absurd board and losing no hand size for it.
Oh, and the worst part for us is Kozmos. Kozmos are going to inadvertently make it even worse for us. Remember BA sneaking tops? While our BA deck isn’t nearly as strong it still could’ve potentially made a run or two. But it gets completely annihilated by Kozmos rendering that moot AND Kozmos is a pain in the ass matchup for Monarchs forcing them to rely on the Netherworld Monarch or Majesty’s/Vanity’s Fiend to do much of anything. And since Kozmos can’t touch PePe…you get the picture from here.
Alright, knowing that I want to play PePe/Odd Eyes, should I look into acquiring 3 Luster Pendulums? Also, I’m buying 3 of those structure decks, ist hat worth it as well? Or meh?
