This list is garbage imo, but Terrertop hit is long overdue. How the hell did Pendulum Call go up to unlimited.
Because Pendulums literally do nothing a month after the list drops. It’s basically just their farewell tour.
norden should have been banned ages ago. lawnmowing getting hit is interesting. i guess they figured since they hit norden, zoo power level will come down giving 60 card decks a chance to possibly run a mok, but that wouldnt have been possible anyways since ghost ash is a thing. so i do find that hit quite odd.
You can’t always have the Ash, and the penalty of getting Grass negated is minimal since there’s no cost to playing it and it’s not a hard OPT.
I think Grass was both great and bad for the game. Bad because it was just a derpy ass card, but in a sense it was good because it brought the Deck Count discussion back to the forefront and made it okay to not adhere strictly to 40-42 card decks.

Desires won’t get touched as long as Ash is out. The possibility of getting wrecked by her will be enough for Konami to leave it alone.

Fr tho Magicians got Skullcrobat, Call, AND Wisdom Eye but Stratos can’t be at 1? Meanwhile Strike AND D-Barrier are still somehow at 3. And they still refuse to actually address Zoo’s.

They ain’t selling Hero shit next month. They’re selling Pendulums next month, thus they giving them the goodbye tour.
Again, the Ban List isn’t actually to enforce any kind of balance, it’s to enforce their bottom line.
And the list DOES address Zoo, in the sense that it takes more resources to go +5 now, instead of just looping Nordens for 10 fucking minutes. They’re still the best deck and archetype, but shit, at least matches may get to Game 3 now by way of actual time.
Of course the banlist is to make money, but I don’t understand how people are ok with it or how custom formats never gain traction.
Also Zoo’s need a direct hit, not this scapegoat nonsense where we ban cards that are used in other decks. Which isn’t to say I’m not happy Norden got clapped. It was long overdue, but how about we hit Zoo’s without fucking with lots of other deck in the process.
Hitting Norden is like nerfing a universal mechanic across the board in a fighting game as a way to balance a SSS tier character. I mean yes technically they were nerfed but so were a shitton of other characters/decks.
“Here at Capcom we think Balrog is overperforming, so to address this issue we are nerfing V-meter gain across the board for all characters”.
Because if you saw the OCG, short of banning the entire archetype, it’s impossible for them to die. They just have too much going on. OCG has no Rat, no Drident, no Barrage, no Norden, Tenki is at 2, it’s LINK Format, and they’re still Top 2. They’ll have to eventually get the ultimate Dragon Ruler nuke, but they’re simply not going to do that so soon.
As for Custom Formats, it’s because there’s no playerbase in the game that can be trusted to make a proper one without heavy bias and if you want to play a game with custom formats it’s almost always preferable to just play MtG instead.
I mean, it just turns out that drawing hand fulls of strikes and ash blossoms and using no resources for good XYZ monsters is ridiculous still. I don’t know how to make that deck bad, unless hand traps become bad, pot of desires is banned, and all of the solemns are banned. It’s too much of a compromise just for one deck. It’s just a cool archetype that was badly balanced. I like the combo idea that they had for this archetype. But its overkill af.
Being infinitely splashable is also an issue of the archetype. Like it sucks that I can literally stuff the engine in a deck and it instantly becomes better. And if I can’t I should play another deck(Hence why Kozmo got hyped up but will ultimately do nothing).
This game is pretty bad. But I have a deck still though. Lol. I’ll post my unoptimized garbage list later. It’s 47 cards 
I was at 40 before set rotation came out, and I was just playing Tincan turbo.
There’s just no way to balance the deck. They have to do something they’ve never done and simply just ban Zoo altogether. The amount of cuts they’d have to do to balance the deck would do it anyway, it’s better to just go the (recent) MtG route of saying “You know what? We fucked up, this isn’t a thing anymore and we apologize”.
I try to give Konami the benefit of the doubt. But link format is about to hit, and Gofu hasn’t been hit. Makes me want to buy three of the OTS Gofus just to have.
It’ll probably get hit in August (the earliest it could), if it does at all initially. Most decks struggle against Draco Zoo even unhindered, Gofu in Link Format isn’t gonna save them.
Yeah I can’t imagine Gofu not being the first card to get clapped in Link Format.
Zoos are just Dragon Rulers all over again. When you can have all the hits they got in OCG land and still be functional it’s clearly a problem. When you are hitting cards on the banlist that were never an issue before just to “balance” top tiers it’s a problem.
The idea behind them may have been cool at some point but now Zoos are synonymous with cancer. Just burn them with fire and be done with it.
Eh…they haven’t wrecked a ton of cards onto the banlist like Dragon Rulers did. Both Norden and Terrortop have been asking for legitimate hits for a long while now anyway, Zoo just pushed them the last little bit into the abyss. Past that, it seemed that they had (in the OCG at least) actually learned from their past mistakes and kept the hits solely onto the archetype at large and it still didn’t work.
Again, just ban the Zoodiac archetype altogether and say you fucked up, and move on. There is no constructive way to salvage the archetype.
