I’m planning to totally revise this whole thread soon. Basically adding things I left out before Seiei Enbu/Matchups, organizing and better documenting, and general strategy.
I’m on Yang’s 3rd combo trials: standing strong, standing short, EX Tourou Zan x3. I can’t combo from short to the first Tourou Zan… Any timing tips?

Can you include Sei-enbu set ups on specific characters? Also, are there any character specific enders?
I second Seiei-Enbu setups. There’s no concise source of information on Seiei-Enbu as far as I’ve seen. Questions:
-
What’s the most damaging combo in the corner once you’ve got your starter in? HP Slash xx LP Slash X N until the ender cr.MK xx HP Slashes?
-
What’s the mid-screen Seiei-Enbu combo?
-
Is there any way to combo into Seiei-Enbu outside of stunning the opponent?
Don’t die Yang forum!
Cool setup to help beat dat Chun.
There is even more to it after this hits, for Yang to hit Chun to get Full Stun meter and Dizzy!
Will talk about that too if anyone is interested or doesn’t already know what comes next here.

- more nicaKO of course!
Yes, mk launcher sjc. sa3 ( which you can follow up with mantis juggle or mk roll)
Also, there is a thread called seiei enbu, hopefully last thread; which has a a variety of different users preferred combos in the first post. Hope this helps.

Yesterday I played a buddy on GGPO and even though my close.mk did hit his akuma, it didnt launch him. it happened twice in like 5 games so I guess it’s not that unusual, whats the deal with it and why did that happen? Can anyone check it out for me and explain? it seems to me like it could be punished even on hit : (
i think it’s when the move hits at a certain part in the animation, probably somewhere late in it. maybe using a guardless meaty setup could help test it. when it happens as anti-air, it resets instead of causing a juggle state. if you don’t realize that in time and do a rollkick, you’re in trouble. a strange thing is that i’ve never seen or had this happen with yun even though the move looks the same. even minor differences in frame data probably couldn’t explain it.
It looks like it has to be a really meaty hit similar to a fuzzy guard setup from urien but in this case the top part of the active hit box is hitting the character so it would only juggle if they are in the air i believe, but idk more research would have to be done
Have seen it before too, even on a fat hitbox like Alex, done meaty on his wakeup.
I see it not launch and hopefully sJump cancel backwards outta there.
played around with it a bit. doesn’t launch when it hits as meaty as i could get it, and presumably happens in non-meaty cases when the hitboxes just don’t collide early enough so a late hit frame connects. on standing hit it leaves yang at a very slight disadvantage (probably unpunishable) based on jump synching with two yangs. i can’t really reproduce that for a crouching hit but i would guess it leaves you around neutral. i don’t think there’s much to worry about here other be careful if you plan on hitting meaty or going for an anti-air hit that may not be clean.
Nica, I tried to do the yang vs chun setup where you put her at a distance where she cant low forward or back fierce me. What is the trick to doing it?
are the inputs just close mp-lk slash-cr.lk ex slash ? I do that but I can never pull it off and she can always hit me with low forward and back fierce after my attempt to do it. also i’m trying to do it on pc ggpo, so maybe it could not work on this version
Are you talking about the one with the palm? If you don’t do anything after the ex slash you can get hit.
so it’s the palm that puts yangs hitbox a little bit farther so that Chun cant c.mk ? Alright, thanks. Couldnt really try it out alone on emu
In one of the random gamespot versus, but I swear I saw a Yang player (multiple times) do j.strong-j.divekick chain, instead of the usual j.forward.j.divekick. I’ve never replicated it myself, but I swear my eyes weren’t deceiving me when I saw it as a j.strong instead of the j.forward, and he did it multiple times. Does anyone know anything about this/how it works?
yeah it’s always the palm that steps him backwards a bit to avoid the hit boxes of the low forward and b-fierce
unfortunately your eyes were most definitely deceiving you for sure, that doesn’t work, never has worked and never will lol haha, but post up the video if you can
Question about Yangs low forwardxxlp mantis slashes. I noticed that it doesn’t seem to connect at all unless the low forward hits pretty deep. How do you play footsies with Yang since this is the case? When exactly do you use low forwardxxlp mantis slashes? I thought it was considered his best footsie tool, but how can it really be used as one when for it to even connect you ahve to pretty much be just outside the range of his low shorts to connect unless you use ex slashes?
I often hear about Yang being good for read-based game. But what actually makes him such? Any character can punish an unsafe move, what makes Yang better than the others?
