Sega held a promotion when making the PS3 version to be added to the game. You entered info on a website: choose a character and wrote up a name and PR. You can read the thread over at VFDC here. Want to be in VF5 for PS3
Most VFDC people were fortunate enough to be added.
My entry is in the game. I was going to enter “Shag” but I thought that might be censored. I used my other nickname “Darkness” and luckily it got picked.
The US names were picked at random and they play nothing like the physical person.
Also, Wolf is serious. I played this one Wolf player last night, forgot what his name was, but I got counter grabbed out of so much shit. Maybe I should try something other than throwing 'bows the whole time…
My s/n in the game is Choi-Ryo, Goh, 8th or 9th Dan can’t remember, I haven’t even seen it yet.
It’s got the comment line “Y U Laffin?” Which I used because at the time I’d recently saw that infamous mvc2 mm vid who’s players names I can’t remember at the moment (that’s fuckin 4 straight!!, you got a pretty smile bitch, a reall pretty smile! and so on), and LMKHIWO4U which stands for “Let me know how it works out for you”
Nah I was already in another match trying to get the taste out my mouth. I’ll get you back though… maybe
I might drop Akira and play Shun exclusively. I keep eating jabs while trying to pull off slightly more advance shit with Akira, I got so frustrated with a Lei-Fei player winning rounds by mashing low jab that I just used :df: :k: during the final round to stagger and finally score the ring out. I bet that bullshit REALLY inspired him to play more VF.
I like VF, but the fact is the character design are on the boring side, and the combo’s arent flashy. Also the game is really deep, with all that combined…its fan base its going to be small…
If not for brad and vanessa an shun, i wouldnt play it either…
Yeah, I expected that though. If the 360 version gets like, 10 more serious people lol, then mishun comprete.
EDIT:^ Yeah, I use to only like a select few, just like many other fighters, but then after learning the game I pretty much like the whole cast now. I also feel the combos are very flashy, especially for some characters, but that comes from knowing what goes into the combos and not the visuals. So I understand fully what you’re saying.
