Yeah, it’s not like the ultimate gauntlet was thrown or anything, lol…I thought it was just Alabama wants a 5 vs 5 and now everyone is all nuts about people wanting to be chosen…
We had this same argument a few years back when Eugene had won like 15 freaking SF4 tourneys and he went 0-2 at KiT, peeps were trying to say he shouldn’t be on the 5 vs 5 SF4 team for TN at Final Round and I was like, you have to be kidding me…so it’s kind of bizarre how this has flipped around and people are basically saying the same thing in reverse even if they lost…
Right now SFAE 5 vs 5 team out here should have Martin on it based n last tourney result but no one’s saying a word about that…just kind of weird how when this affects certain groups of players from the backlash of Eugene not doing well at one tourney to very little backlash of Pat and Eddie not doing well at the last tournament…
It’s precisely why you do a round robin, lol
Sorry Flymike, anytime you have GdBell liking a post you write there’s a problem…
LIke I said, I’m not involved in your guys choosing stuff but it comes down to groups alienating other groups. If there’s nothing to worry about I just don’t see why people can’t play…at the very least they’ll get some experience in a tournament situation where something “counts”, that’s my entire point…
Meh…it was inevitable but…I suppose i’ll start today by picking up Kang (whilst I practice Tekken)…So yeah. WHERE THE HELL DO I START WITH THIS GAME? Lol (As in what should I learn first…an order of importance would be nice o.o…)
Don’t bother, there’s no point, just cheer on others.
LOL
But seriously, play Mission modes, those teach you a lot about what can be done in the game. I didn’t even start doing those until last week because I am stubborn and wanted to figure out basics on my own, but definitely play the Mission Trial (combo) modes…some of those things are rough…
I would, but I’m more worried about karma ending my worthless life for such a deed.
Hateful bitch.
Alienation? Wow. Then on the flip, and especially at this point, I’m pretty sure no-one in Memphis would trip if TN had a team fully comprised of Nash in an AE 5v5 vs another state. Maybe Woot would say something, but even deep down he knows he has been playing Gem Bison for the past while and with no one here on AE like that to keep him or themselves in proper form, Nash is undisputed, even though they had locks before.
See how that works? Unselfishness. Obvious acknowledgement. Especially for the greater good (beating another state’s ass, still respectfully), especially when it’s on that level and not just some random, spontaneous, grab your partner DOSEY DOE!, team thing.
But whatever. I’m sorry if I was mean. RR time. Get hype guys let’s go yea.
P.S. About the Eugene 0-2 thing, it’s about CONSISTENCY. Anyone who said Eugene shouldn’t have been on a Vanilla SF4 team because he went 0-2 in one tourney, but a guy that got 2nd that you’ll never see again should, can die in a grease fire. SHOULD die in a grease fire.
Quiet. You mentioned Tri-Force in a positive light. In an attempt to win an argument you propped…Tri-force. Your immunity is revoked this week.I warned you about getting carried away and posting shit like that.
For the last time, I mentioned Triforce being a community leader in the eyes of others!! Not me!! You know people look up to that clown! But I don’t!!!
You know, how you make fun of people for doing what the “top” players do. People will do what Triforce says/do because hes a “top player/community figure.”
Flymike: A couple of Nashville guys brought it up to me while at the event ( I wasn’t at KiT that year) one of them who is no longer in the scene was at one point a top 3 fixture but yeah man, it happened seriously…0-2 in 1 event meaning he is off the team? LOL…Dunno man, people get weird about things and not understand until it happens to them. It’s like history repeating itself here with certain things except that everyone gets good at games much faster because of the internet/YouTube…
Gdbell: I don’t think anyone confuses Triforce as a top player. He plays non fighting games well but he’s not a great fighting game player.
What? No! No why would you even have dude in your list of people to make that point? I only know who the guy is because the masses think he’s a clown. What the hell Gabe?
That’s like a pimp whoring teenage girls and me recognizing him for getting young people jobs and into the workforce.
That’s just dumb as fuck though. This isn’t becoming that though. This is about consistency. One could argue that Sev “popped up” and won one tourney. Ok. But actually, he didn’t “pop up”, he has been doing damage here since jump in that game, and even in the Memphis tourney when MidTN came down. Why are people acting like everyone acting like the game just came out and we started playing today?
I’m all about fair and community. But what’s unfair is to slight the people who have been CONSECUTIVELY and CONSISTENTLY knocking heads by the notion of having to earn something they potentially earned when they pretty much dominated throughout.
That was just my whole point about it. But it’s a lot of self-entitlement here and that’s just how it is I guess. I respect the fuck out of certain MidTN guys for their hunger and drive. But NeoMemphis is becoming more like old Memphis in the fact that a fiery person like SRKFADC won’t even demand that he be able to have a chance to earn a spot on the team when he knows that the people in mind are stronger than him at this point. Even if he can beat them, is that really what we want to base this off of?
I can beat you. You beat me and have placed higher than me countless times. But on this day, I can beat you. And I should represent over you. I’m old school I guess. You can be the one that beats the guy who has a streak and take him off the machine. You can even talk shit about it. But don’t get carried away now. He played off the same quarter for a good while. You lost the next match. Now you’re back in line behind him. Eyes watering and quiet. Knowing that he’s gonna light your ass up this time. So you’re already seeing how much change you have in your pocket.
Lol that wasn’t a good analogy but it does have some similarities in the meaning of this RR.
AL always does tourneys/RRs for slots on teams. It just makes sense. If you can’t play in a double elimination or RR format with the pressure of making a team, you can’t win a one or nothing match in a 5v5. If it’s a 5v5 RR, then you have to RR it. We’ve done more Marvel 5v5s from this state, but even the top five here have changed from time to time in that game.
I was born and raised in east TN, but now I live in AL. I’m pretty impartial to the whole thing, but southerners love their state pride.
For the Memphis Tekken heads, I’ll see if I can get our 3-4 competitive Tekken players to head up there. I know Nikos will MM any of you guys, lol.
I feel you. Except for…remember you said Isaac was locked? See how that’s understood? Lol. The pressure is the actual 5v5 in the hot-seat. I’ve participated in enough team tourneys and tournaments in general to know when the pipes actually burst. And it’s not playing the guys you play everyday in your comfy environment and beating them on a particular occasion. A RR is not even as intense as a ranbat.
Also, if you have a camp or a scene that fluctuates or is within a general level that’s close, then it just makes sense. We had to do this stuff for Tekken many times with a few guys here seemingly interchangeable or back and forth for years.
About the Tek heads, omg please do. Tell Nikos he will have at least 5 MMs if he wants them.
P.S. You said the top 5 changed in Marvel 3? I had to stop myself. I refuse to be mean-spirited towards that game tonight.
I CAN’T! I really want to though and hope someone finds utter flaw in my argument and embarrasses me for it because I’m tired of posting, honestly.
That’s MY hd combo! And the easiest one for that dmg in the game possibly (which I still drop if I rush the 2-hitting C to not allow the character to auto dash into the second close C). I just never have Maxima on 4 bars anymore and if I do I’ve already spent a bar as soon as it came being a jackass.
I play him first now like I used to and it’s harder to combo the Neomax off of the Lvl 1. Have to crank it ON HIT. Not too bad but I don’t need that stress in my life.
Good shit. Now throw some Meatball subs in it and see how much overkill it is lol.
Mmmmmmaybe I do, mmmmmaybe I don’t … wait, who am I kidding, it’s the ONLY FG I’ve been playing other than a little dab of KOF … So that qualifies me for the Tekken 6 team right?
I … would feel sad a-a-and left out … … so would Anthony. You’re a jerk, Mike!
