I’ve cussed out and threatened more lives than Justin has gotten bodied in fg’s, I’ve smashed more controllers than flymike has bashed games but i’ve beaten the damn games! I still have nightmares about shattered soldier on hard with 3 lives and last stage being nothing but boss fights back to back lol Hell i think i still have the video file of me beating contra 3 the alien wars on the hardest level with one man and in under 20 mins lol if i find it i will upload it right away but i warn ya i had a mini curly fro during those days lmao!

Yea, I’m admittedly super stoked now. But not because of all the new content that they’re CONSTANTLY adding (have you been following? it’s seriously overkill. perhaps the most extras in not only a fg, but game period). Already told my gf to get ready lol. There is literally not going to be enough time in the day to balance life and all the sessions going to happen in that game. Fuck! Gonna have to take some small naps during the day just to get ready for all nighters in TTT2 over people’s houses. Even moreso than T6 because of influx of newer players.
Had to get a few in T6 this week just to undo some VF habits and get Tek movement back. Just a heads up, VF and Tek don’t mix at all and I can’t imagine having to play both in the same tournament. I feel so sorry for the guy who does.

Yeah, I’m gonna probably hop back on t6 2 weeks before Tag2 releases. Go back to movement,combos,punishment, recognizing counter hits, etc. I did see all the stuff they added, including the online website thing, but considering its all free and doesn’t dumb the actual game down, its all good with me. I’m just hoping the online is very solid and/or a lot of nashville people stick with it.
As far as characters, yeah Bruce and Lei seem to be my best bet. I can already think of stuff that I believe would work as far as tag combos go, and having a mix up game and great damage seems good. I might try out a few others, I know everyone is going nuts over Kunimitsu. If they brought back Yoshimitsu’s Tekken 3/Tag outfit, I’d have to make them a squad.

Lol hell no. That’s a disgustingly boring squad. Nothing spectacular about combining them besides they have a special tag grab together. Because they’re both fat I guess. Ganryu is just a solid chara that some people may use for filler and his now beefy carry. Bob is just Bob.
That’s my one true peeve with TTT2. People don’t care to be unique, original, or creative. They opt to be clones. Even in korean or jap vids you only see the same teams, same players unless you stumble across a random vid from a random channel. US scene is going to be top players who tierwhore with teams that are already established and that they can copy and utilize. Or try to get by with derp shit from console characters, at least for first month or so. The players under that will use characters that have grabs, winposes, and endings together. Dumb shit like that.
For me it’s just going to be my 2 main characters I already have, Ganny and Zafina. Played this team at Final Round but I didn’t have good grasp of new tag mechanics then but I was trying to throw some shit together 2nd day. Will most likely stick with them throughout, like I do for my charas in every fg. It’s funny but I probably won’t even fuck with all the characters that I used in T6 even. And this is the game to experiment. Only in specific matchups from certain players would I swap out Zaf with maybe Wang, if I’m getting ate up by certain mids while transitioning or something. But she doesn’t have her same T6 problems so I’m confident in her this game. She was even A tier in the first lists because of one move. That’s why I don’t pay much attention to tier lists lol, especially in Tekken.
Alex was one of my old characters so will see what they done with him. I didn’t like Roger after DR, and the changes in TTT2 led even some of the players to drop him, so just hoping Alex isn’t simply a clone with new B! moves, or an even lesser Roger. But yea, Ganny/Zaf all day. Rolling and crawling. All that shit man.
ha yeah, i can def. see that happening over here in the US. But I agree, play who you like. Zafina always seemed like an underrated character in t6 to me. I always heard she was “the worst”, but every character in that game is solid and has good stuff.
Indeed she was underrated. By idiots. Plus some of the top players who used her briefly tried to play her one wreckless way, got bodied, and said she sucked. The dickriders heard and it became gospel for awhile until scene finally woke up and realized that there was much potential of many characters left untapped. The truth was, US Tekken 6 scene barely scratched the surface in terms of exploring the depth of certain characters in the game.
True enough, she has some mad punishable shit. But if you play generally safe, you can open opponent up to mixups incorporating stances. They sped up the transitions and made them more accessible, gave her some extensions, made her ws+1,2 launch on normal hit so it’s like a mini twin pistons now, gave her a d+3 high crushing low, etc. She’s set.
Early on in TTT2.0 you saw SO many Zafina teams because they thought it was a free lunch. Niggas are straight tierwhores man. Shit’ll never change.
